As soon as they reached their room, both bursted out laughing, remembering Anjali's and Akash's embarassed faces.
Ar: That was fun. I never expected Jijaji to tease Di and Akash like this.
He said, with a smile on his face.
Kh: Humein bhi ab tak vishwas nahin ho raha hain par unke chehre dekhne layak the. (Even I still cannot believe it but their faces were worth watching.)
After controlling their laughter, they sat on the bed for some serious talks.
Ar: By the way, tell me, how has the last month been? Payal ne kuch kiya ya Jijaji ne tumne pareshaan toh nahin kiya na, (Did Payal do something or has Jijaji troubles you?)
Kh: Par humne phone pe toh aapko bataya tha ki sab theek tha. (But I had told you on phone that everything was fine.)
Ar: Khushi, tell me the truth. Mujhe pata hain phone pe tumne mujhe sab sach nahin bataya hoga. The Great Khushi Singh Raizada ne socha hoga, 'Humaare pati wahan kaam kar raha hoga, toh hum usse apni pareshaani se kyun tang kare'. So tell me the truth. (I know the Great KSR must have had thought that her husband is working over there, then why bother him with her problems.)
Kh: Par humne sach bola to tha. (But I've told you the truth.)
She said but upon getting an annoying glare from Arnav, she finally resorted to speaking the truth.
Kh: Pata nahin kyun par pichle mahine se Shyamji kuch theek nahin lag rahe hain. Jab bhi woh humein dekhte hain, uski aankhon mein kuch hain, jaise ki pachtaava. Aur woh Di ke saath chipke rehte hain. Subah ko kaam der se jaata hain aur Shyam ko jald hi aajaate hain. Par zyada se zyada waqt Di ke saath bitate hain, unke khayal rakhte hain. (I don't know but from the past month, he does not seem fine. Whenever he looks at me, there is something in his eyes, like guilt. And he stays stuck to Di. He goes to work late in the morning and comes back early in the evening. But he spends most of his time with Di, taking care of her.)
Arnav felt somewhat relieved upon knowing that Shyam was taking care of his Di and did not trouble his wife.
Ar: Are you sure?
She nodded.
Ar: And Payal? Uska kya? I'm sure usne kuch na kuch to kiya hoga. Itni aasaani se chup baithne walon mein se nahin hain. Aur mere absence mein, tumhe neecha dikhaane ka bahut mauka mili hogi. (What about her? I'm sure she must've had done something or the other. She's not among those who will remain quiet. And in my absence, she must've gotten to many chances to insult you.)
Kh: Aisi koi baat nahin hain. Jab aap gaye the, uski kuch dinon baad unke parivaar waale aaye the, unhone baatein to ki thi, par humne bhi mooh tor jawab dedi. Shayad issiliye aaj woh apne maayke chale gaye. (There's nothing like this. When you were gone, after some days her family had come, they said some things but I gave them a tit for tat answer as well. Maybe that's why she's gone to her maternal home today.)
¤¤¤Flashback starts¤¤¤
Khushi was in the kitchen, making preparations for lunch, unaware that the Guptas had come home to visit Payal. And the Raizadas preferred to not tell her about their visit as they knew about the problems between them.
Thinking of giving Payal some privacy with her family, Nani told her to sit at the veranda as no one would disturb them there.
At that particular time, Khushi got a phone call from Aman regarding the furniture orders of their new house and she moved to the patio. While talking on the phone, she was strolling around and she reached the veranda, unaware that it was already occupied.
