When Secrets Come to Light

Part 1

Kesenia our flight just got called to board, you coming or what?” my ever cheerful business partner & best friend Misha asks as she gently tries to wake me up. “What?!” I exclaim as I hurriedly jump up & grab my laptop case. “Aww Misha why'd you let me fall asleep?” I grump. She just stands there calmly watching me as I start walking towards the tunnel to board the plane. “Relax Nia, we have time.” she says. “Look at the line to board.” I look where she's pointing.

   I stop walking when I see the line that's queued up. As Misha walks up beside me I mutter “You should have let me sleep till the line was gone.” She just smiles & shakes her head at me. “Why so you could just grump at me anyway?” she asks teasingly. “I'm sorry Mimi, I know I'm a grump at the end of a long trip.”

   We've spent the last six months flying all over the world making sure all of our clients are receiving the best we have to offer. Plus our stop in Tokyo was to build up relations with our sister company. I'm looking forward too finally being home sleeping in my own bed & eating home cooked meals. I love my job but I miss home, it's the only place I can really be myself. Misha touches my arm lightly “Nia, did you hear anything I just said?” I blush & stutter “H-huh what?” She chuckles & says “Wow you really zoned out huh?”

   We get to the end of the line to board the plane. “Sorry I was thinking about how good it will be to finally be home again.” She gives me a knowing smirk before asking “Is Ryoichi going to meet you at the airport?” Ryoichi is my boyfriend & the main reason I'm so anxious to get home. We haven't seen each other much of the past year so I worry that he'll get fed up & leave.

   “I hope so, he said he'll be there the last time we skyped.” With a knowing smirk of my own I ask her “Is Kai going to be there to welcome you home?” Misha can't help grinning as she answers. “Yeah he'll be there, we talked on the phone while you were asleep.” Finally it's our turn to board the plane. I pull out my phone & send a quick text to Ryoichi

          ~On the plane, can't wait to see you.

I turn off my phone before pulling out my CD player & eye mask to help me relax/sleep during the flight back home.

              (Several hours later)

   “Mimi! Wake up! We're home!” I say as I try to get her up & moving. “GEEZE! I might be a grump but at least I wake up easy.” I grumble. “I heard that.” Misha says as she finally opens her eyes & stretches. We gather or belongings & quickly make or way off the plane. We both smile as we exit the tunnel into the airport. Kai is standing there with a sign

      ~WELCOME HOME BEAUTIFUL LADIES~

Misha rushes into his waiting arms & gives him a very heated kiss. I turn my back & mutter “Get a room, we're in public.” Kai gently steps away from her to give me a slight bow & apologize for their behavior.

   Misha just smiles & shakes her head at me. “Do you see anyone with a camera here?” she says. “No, that doesn't mean there isn't.” I say bitterly. “Nia you worry too much, there's no way they're still following you.” Misha says gently. I wish I could believe it, there's nothing I want more than to live a normal life again. Suddenly there are hands over my eyes & a voice I would know anywhere whispers “Guess who?” I just barely restrain myself as I turn & look into the face of the man I love “Ryo! You're here!”
