As promised, a transcript of another letter. I've not found another one from Anise so far.
"Brianne,
I am sorry to cancel our plans, but my aunt is not well. She writes constantly, always letters, but never mails them. They do vanish though. I have searched her room and I cannot find them. All her books are gone too. I couldn't even find their titles on Amazon, and now they are gone. I don't know what she did with them. Maybe she burned them.
I can hear her upstairs now, writing. She must be writing. She is always writing. Her words have begun to taint the house we live in. She probably gets replies to her letters too, although they don't come in the mail. Weird words from weird people in my house. And I don't know what they say.
I can't go on like this. The lights always flicker, no matter how often I replace the bulbs. I have to find all her pens, and all her papers too. I have to stop her.
I am sorry I won't be able to come to your party. Please forgive me. I have to do this.
Love,
Emily"
