"Damn it, Suzu...wake up! School starts at 9 AM! What are you still doing in bed?!"

I felt someone shake me vigorously as my eyes opened slowly. My groggy demeanor changed in an instant as soon as I saw my mother, towering over me with fury. "I can't believe you! It's your first day of high school and you've managed to oversleep!" my mother said in a huffed tone. I can sense the ferocity in her unwavering voice.

I glanced over to my bed stand to find my alarm clock missing. That's strange; I swear my clock was there the night before. I even remembered I set the alarm to wake me up at 7 AM. I wonder what happened to it...

My mom let out a disappointed sigh and said, "You better hurry up; it's around 8:15 now. You know how crowded the train gets during rush hour. Get ready and grab some breakfast on your way out", before disappearing into the hallway.

I bolted straight out of bed and hastily put on my new school uniform. I stepped in front of my full-body mirror, trying to make myself presentable as best as I can. Combing my long, jet black hair, I cursed under my breath as I battled with my bedhead. Crap, if only I haven't overslept! I would've had more time to gussy up and successfully have my high school debut. "Well, so much for that...", I thought to myself as I brushed my teeth in the bathroom. No! Now isn't the time act so defeated when this new chapter of my life hasn't even started yet! I slapped some water on my face to shake these negative thoughts out of my mind.

"Come on, Suzu, it's 8:30! Quicken your pace!", my mother hollered from the dining room. Short on time, I grabbed a slice of buttered toast on the table and put on my shoes. I bid goodbye to my mother and navigated these familiar streets to the train station with great celerity. Ugh, what a total disappointment...

Oh, that's right! Starting today, I, Osaki Hosuzu, am a first year high school student in Futsūno High School! It's a dream to be enrolled into a school that included alumni consisting of world famous celebrities in the entertainment industry. Can you imagine an ordinary 15 year-old girl like me, walking down the same entrance as these incredible people once did? Maybe you can but this feeling of excitement is indescribable!

Lost in my own thoughts, I was approaching a corner fast. I collided with something so hard; I lost my balance and fell onto the sidewalk. "OOF!", I exclaimed.

"Holy shit! Hey, are you alright?! That looked like it hurt!"

I looked up to see a handsome young boy extending his hand towards me. His medium length side bangs might be slightly covering his intense dark hazel eyes but I can see his concern for me. For some reason, he looks oddly familiar. Have I seen him before from somewhere? I turned away, blushing heavily while being helped up by this very attractive guy. Man, what a total hottie! It's insane to see such beautiful people like this exist among mere mortals.

"I-I'm sorry for b-bumping into you like this! I'm in a bit of a rush at the moment.", I blurted out as I apologized profusely. "Hey, it's fine. Don't worry about it! I was also in a hurry too", he said with a slight chuckle. "It looks like we're both going to be late for the entrance ceremony." I glanced at him and noticed his uniform donned the same style as mine. "Oh yikes! W-we can't be late for our first day!", I said, flustered. Agreeing with me, the boy took my hand firmly and we ran to the train station with all our might.

With a few minutes left to spare, we both miraculously arrived at the front gates on time. "I guess this is where we part ways" the cute guy said, "since I transferred here as a second year student." I gasped a quick farewell to him as I sped to the assembly hall.

In the end, I was late to the entrance ceremony but only by a few minutes. I absentmindedly entered the place while making sure I garnered as little attention as possible. Suddenly, I remembered something important! I totally forgot to ask him what his name was! I cursed myself silly for forgetting such a thing but I quickly snapped out of it as the ceremony started.
