Ryuu POV
With Yui next to me we both sat with our heads turned away from eachother inside a Taxi. We chose to sit in silence with only the car's engine and the radio filling in the silence.
It was a long drive to wherever we were going to, especially when Yui started to bounce her knee up and down annoyingly, one of her many bad habits she had. I frowned admittedly irritated but reluctantly kept my thoughts to myself seeing as in the corner of my eye I saw in the rear mirror that our driver was frowning so much that I swore I saw a vein pulsing on the left side of his head, his sweat slowly falling down his face as if struggling to not yell.
Lowering my gaze to his hands I took into account that his grip on the steering wheel turned his knuckles whitep.
I sighed quietly as I calmed my growing annoyance, letting my stare slowly wander outside to watch blurry tress just outside of the thin glass getting lost in thought.
An unwanted shiver ran down my spine snapping me out of my train of thought when Yui slamming her door.
I guess we've arrived. I looked behind me seeing the driver already outside getting our luggage out from the boot.
I sighed looking the other way staring towards the property we will now be living in. To my surprise, it was a mansion, a little on the creepy side but nonetheless gigantic.
I stepped out of the car doing a long needed stretch, my aching bones clicked making me hum in satisfaction. I proceeded to grab my luggage from our driver as I saw Yui have her pink suitcase in hand thanking our driver before moving towards the entrance of our new home, guarded by a huge metal gate left slightly ajar.
The driver passed my small bag with a blank face which I responded with an awkward thank you.
Grabbing my luggage out of his hand and exchanging it with the money I owe for the ride he nodded at me while tipping his hat as a thank you gesture, then climbed inside his cab and drove off, rather quickly may I add.
I tilted my head confused at his actions but shrugged it off turning around to face Yui who stared with a curious look at the mansion then proceeded to walk cautiously while gripping the rose cross Seiji had gifted her before we departed.
I gripped the handle of my suitcase, also unconciously gripping the cross Seiji had given me to try and quell my anxiety. Ignoring it seemed to be the best option as I followed Yui toward the building.
Not even half way there it suddenly started pouring heavily so we had to rush to the doorsteps. A bit wet, we stopped in front of a grand door, it's architecture fitting perfectly with the mansion's decor.
Very slowly Yui knocked using the handle on the wooden door.
Knock...
Knock...
Knock...
We waited for a bit but no one answered. Yui was about to knock again until the door slowly opened by itself with a loud, eerie creak and a gush of wind piling out. I stood with wide eyes as the uneasy feeling grew.
Author POV
Yui looked back at Ryuu for a moment beforeshe continued on inside the mansion. Ryuu sighed since it was getting cold as the downpour turned into a storm so he quickly pushed forward while closing the door behind him.
They walked for awhile, the thunder booming through the halls every so often. Yui was walking aimlessly with Ryuu following closely behind her studying the decor of the mansion.
