Hey to whoever may read this. This is one of the few stories I've written that doesn't involve mythical creatures. So I hope you enjoy it!

Melody's P.O.V
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia, and forget about these stupid little things. Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you...
"Mmm, shut up," I groan and toss around in my bed.
And the memories that never can escape.
"Argh!" I yell and roll over but end up falling off the bed.
My ringtone is still playing, and I try to get up, but I trip over from being entangled in my sheets. Pulling myself into a sitting position, I grab my phone off my bedside table and answer the call.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Get dressed sleepy head, don't want to miss the bus," a voice says. I recognise the voice as my best friend; Hannah.
I roll my eyes. "I still have plenty of time."
Hannah laughs. "It's 7:30. The bus comes in fifteen minutes, stupid." I can just imagine the cheeky grin on her face.
"Shit! I can't get ready that quick! Can't you pick me up?" I plead.
"Sorry Melz, but I have to go to volley ball training now. But I'll catch you later. Bye!" She hangs up.
Hannah is the sporty type of girl and she's the captain of the volley ball team. She trains before and after school, 2 to 3 times a week, which really sucks on days that I need a lift.
I would drive to my academy but unfortunately my car broke down a month ago and it's currently being repaired. So I've had to catch the bus lately which really doesn't work for me because I'm not a morning person. Though what can I say? Life is just a bitch sometimes.
Finally escaping my cocoon of blankets, I get off the floor and walk to my closet. I change into a black dress with purple swirls that hug my curves and show my toned legs. I have to wear these colours because purple and black are the school colours. We do have a formal school uniform, but we only wear it once a month on our monthly assemblies.
I brush my teeth as well as my auburn hair and place it into a messy bun before applying foundation and mascara to my face. I look at my reflection to see a girl in her late teens staring back at me with wide green eyes. I'm not drop dead gorgeous but I admit I am pretty, with my slightly curved body and auburn hair. Though I don't really care about all that, it's the person beneath that matters.
Oh, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Melody Chase and I'm 17 years old. I'm 5 foot 10 and I have an average body. I live in Sydney and I am currently a senior at Byrns Academy. I live alone in a single apartment and work part time at a café.
Anyway, walking out of the bathroom and into my bedroom, I begin packing my school bag with the books I need today. Biology, English, HPE, mathematics and business. Not the greatest subjects but I guess I'll have to deal with it. Grabbing my phone, I check the time to see its 7:40am...
Shit! I'm going to be late for the bus. I grab my bag while placing my phone in my pocket. I look around the room for my converse shoes and when I spot them I quickly put them on. I race out of my apartment and lock the door behind me.
If I take the elevator to the bottom floor of the building, I can quickly rush out and make it to the bus stop in no time. Though unfortunately luck was not on my side because as I reach the elevator, I find an out of order sign stuck on the doors.
