He will come anytime soon.
I ran up to the other corner of the bathroom where the janitor supplies were kept but this time the butterfly disappeared. I took cover by the wall and waited for the bang.
He barged into the room with the sheer force. His hands holding the rims of the basin as he looked himself right in the eye.
He was breathing heavily. His hair was dyed blonde as his true brown colour had already started growing at his roots. His hair was disorganized and he looked like he was high on drugs. He only muttered-
"Max, you can do this."
"You never bow down to anyone."
"You rule!"
Seeing the repetition of events made me nauseous. I tried to breathe normally but the sickening feeling in my gut was excruciating. Blood flowed rapidly into my veins as my body readied itself for action. But I can't attack this guy, he was too big and judging by how high he was because of the drugs, he won't hesitate to kill me.
Like he killed that girl...
I can't let that happen.
I don't want to be a bystander.
Not anymore.
I looked around for supplies. I can throw the bucket at him which might knock him down. But there was a 'might'. I had to delay his action. I cannot call the staff and say- this guy is going to kill a girl in a few minutes and my proof is because I witnessed it in the future. When I saw that guy entering Starbucks, he looked completely fine so there might be drugs in his system, but the staff will not be convinced enough.
The girl entered inside.
My vision started to blur.
I started to panic.
" What the fu*k M, keep that gun down, you'll not shoot me," She said and I did not have much time. I saw the Janitor's cart and pushed it aside. I saw the fire alarm and my mind went to overdrive. But the glass had to be broken by a hammer.
The hammer was missing. My heart seemed as if it exploded in my chest."Please," she pleaded. He pressed the trigger without saying anything. The sharp sound filled my ears again. Going through this experience twice made me feel like I would pass out any second. I tried to breathe normally.
"Oh my god! Beth! Please don't die! I am so sorry!" He shouted as the door opened and people walked in. Shock and chaos filled the entire room but I will fix this. I can't let this go.
I raised my hand again, concentrating on the previous events. I closed my eyes imagining the scene all over again. This time I also paid attention to my breaths and it was surprising enough when I realized that I remembered everything. It was like a photograph. An example that time can stop.
" Look, Mike, the best way is to just tell me where it is or there will be huge consequences!" She repeated.
" Oh really, will it be worse than this?" he said and took out a gun he was hiding in his waist. There was a spiral in my head with a dot in the centre. The spiral was not endless it had an end, as the dot travelled along the line and slowly reaching towards it.
