Fraya's POV-
The warm coffee cup soothed my aching hands. I had been in the office all day going over the work I put aside for dinner last night. It was well past midnight, this had been then latest I have ever stayed at the office. Thankfully I had got a cozy chair and side table put in my after the first week of work. Slowly I packed my purse and wrote a note to my assistant that I'd come in work early afternoon.
My heels clicked against the staircase, I had chose the stairs hoping it would wake me up enough to drive safely. I was halfway down the last flight of stairs when I heard voices. I paused, my heart pounded against my chest. Adrenaline already rushing through me. Slowly I took off my heals, switch them with the gun inside my purse. I set down my purse then quickly made my way down the rest of the stairs.
I pressed my ear against the door trying to make sense of the muffled voices to could only make out the fact that there where at least five people, one possibly a woman. Carefully, I creaked the door ever so slightly. Shit! There were five men out there with two women, they appeared to be moving a shipment.
Okay, I can do this in two ways. One, walk right out, hoping they are just your typical shipment. Two, I could take my escape route. Quickly, I decided the second option was safer. I tucked my purse under the stairs, only taking my phone, keys, and gun with me. I crept back up the stairs. Thankfully as long I stayed quiet I would be safe because they don't know I'm here.
I cracked the door that lead Into a hallway on the second floor. Relief washed over me when I saw the floor was empty, it was dim lights made the marble floor have a faint shimmer, giving the long hall a eriey feel.
Halfway to my hidden exit, the elevator dinged. It was for this level. Shit. I ducked into an unlocked office, placing myself by the door. "...yeah there was a small blonde on this floor."
Shit, they know I'm here. I'm so screwed. My hands shook as I prayed I wouldn't have to use lethal force. The voice became clear, louder, "You take the right side, I'll take left."
I took a deep breath. There are only two men. If they are same ones I saw earlier I knew I could take them. All the men were around the same build, broad shoulders, roughly around two hundred pounds of muscle, and tall.
"Clear." A man yelled, they had begun to check the offices. Slowly they got closer and closer to me. My heart was jumping inside my chest, adrenaline shot through me, making me somewhat eggar for a fight. I tucked the gun away, not wanting my attack to be fatal if I could help it. Finally the door for the office I was in opened, a large man walked into the dark room. I jumped him, using surprise to overpower him. I kicked his back calf hard, he fell forward. One of my hands wrapped around his mouth, preventing him to call to his pal. The other hand searched for his pressure point, he slumped forward, unconscious. Gently I laid him on the floor then hit him with the butt of my gun, giving me two minutes to attack the next guy and escape. I prepared myself for the next attack, knowing I have most likely lost the surprise.
The hallway was empty, meaning my next victim was in an office. I landed on an open door across the hall, two doors away to right from the one directly across from me. Quickly I ran over to the door, gun drawn. In front of me stood another muscular man except he was pointing a gun at me. "Miss drop the gun. I don't want to shoot."
I bit my lip but lowered my gun knowing i didn't have much longer till the other guy woke up. "Please don't hurt me." I whispered, trying to get the guy to soften up. His eyes flickered with sympathy but his posture was still wary. Thankfully he lowered his gun, he closed much of the distance between us in three big steps. I jabbed at his throat, hitting his windpipe and kicked his groin. Both well placed blows sent him to the ground. Not even bothering to grab my gun, I sprinted towards the exit.
