Once I got dismissed from my 5th period class, it was time for lunch. I decide to skip lunch and go to the library for a bit. Once I got to the library I started to draw. A couple minutes passed and then I noticed a kid  with tan skin and wavy blonde hair. He was in a bright orange shirt, blue jeans that were ripped at the knees, and a pair of grey Vans. He looked like he was struggling with something. I was wondering if I should go over there and help, but I didn't want to because what if he was rude. But then I remembered my sister, Hazel, saying that she wanted me to make friends, so I'm attempting  to do so. I grab my stuff, which wasn't a lot just my phone, sketchBook, and my pencil, and walked over to him.

“Hey, you look like you’re struggling.” I said once I got near him, I immediately started regretting my action.

“Oh,” He seemed shocked for a second then chilled down. “Yeah, I don’t know what book to read.” He said looking at the shelfs. “My teacher said if I finished two books, in a week, that she would get me a homework pass.” He turned and faced me. “Oh! You’re the new kid that’s in my homeroom! I’m Will by the way.” He said with a smile.

“I’m Nico..” I reply. He has beautiful ocean blue eyes and small little freckles scattered all over his face “I, um, I,” I looked away, towards the bookshelf. “There are some really good books out there, I don’t know if you have them at this school though.”

He smiled “Really? Can you suggest some?” He said.

'Adorable' I thought  'wait, what’

“You still there?” He said, waving his hand in front of my face.

“O-oh y-yeah hahahahaha” I started awkwardly laughing like a fool for a few seconds, then stopped. “I don’t know, we probably don’t like the same type of literature.”

“So? I really need this homework pass” He said

“Okay fine, there are some books like, ‘the Lord of the Rings’, ‘Dorothy Must Die’, (rlly tho read that) ‘Alice’s Adventures in wonderland’, ‘Frankenstein’-”

“Wow, some (not all) of those are big, old books” he said

“Yeah.. you probably don’t want to read those..” I mumbled. I looked away towards the bookshelf.

“N-no! I didn’t mean it like that, I’m all for trying new things.” He said.

“Okay..” I said, not sure if I should stay and help or just leave. “Do you want anymore suggestions?” I asked cautiously.

“Heck yeah!” He said with joy in his voice. “By the time i’m done reading all of these books i’ll be drowning in homework passes!”

I laughed a quiet little laugh for a second and then went on listing books and chatting with him.
It was, actually nice.
