Have you ever tried to put a sports bra on after taking a shower? It's fucking impossible. That's how it feels to walk downstairs to Nolan's kitchen without his mom thinking we spent all of last night fucking each other.
Nolan and I used to have sleepovers all the time when we were in middle school. They were completely innocent, and our parents knew that. But, when we got older it honestly just got awkward. We knew people would talk if we kept doing it when we were in high school, so our weekly sleepovers ceased when freshman year came along.
Luckily, Nolan had switched his twin bed out for a queen once he got too tall for his old one, so we could comfortably sleep in the same bed, without being in an awkwardly close proximity to each other.
"Nol, Nolan," I whispered as I shook his angus shoulders lightly. His eyes peeked open, opening his mouth to let out a large yawn, "Ew, you have morning breath."
"Sorry, I forgot bitches never have bad breath," He snapped back playfully.
My jaw dropped, "Rude."
Nolan and I both agreed to ignore any looks or crude comments coming from his family members who we very well know are downstairs because we can hear them giggling about us. Maddie and Aimee used to constantly tease him because they were convinced he liked me, but we both knew we would never be more than that.
"Good morning, lovebirds," Aimee giggles to Maddie who were sitting on the couch in the living room, "Pancakes are on the counter."
"Thanks," I said quietly with a blush creeping onto my sheets.
Not even realizing that I hadn't checked my phone, I reluctantly opened to Collin's contact seeing at least five new messages.
"I'm sorry I flipped out on you"
"Lex please answer me"
"You never go to bed this early where are you"
"If you're blowing off my texts for your little bender of a best friend I'll freak the fuck out"
"I hope you have a great excuse for this"
I decided to leave the texts be. I don't feel like ruining my day because of some petty fight I get in with Collin.
"How's your douchebag of a boyfriend doing this glorious morning?"
I shot Nolan a glare, "Fabulous."
Silence fell on the table as Nolan and I ate our pancakes. "I need to get clothes from my house," I said, getting both of our empty plates and losing them into the dishwasher.
"I'll drive you," Nolan replied, wiping a napkin across his face and grabbing the keys from the hook.
My heart raced and my eyes widened as we turned the corner. In all his stupid, cocky glory, stood Collin. Leaning against his freshly washed, black Camaro, his jaw clenched as he saw me in the car with Nolan.
"Of fucking course," Collin cursed as I climbed out of the passenger door, "Why don't you just move in with the douchebag? Huh?"
"I don't have time for your shit today, Collin."
He hit his hand on the hood of his car, "You're fucking kidding! You don't have time for me? Because I'm pretty sure you're the one that was ignoring my texts."
"Yeah, but who was standing all alone last night waiting for their excuse of a boyfriend to show up to dinner?" I spat back, "If you're trying to get back at me for spending time with Nolan then fine! You won! Now, can we stop with all this?"
"No. We're not done here. Did you sleep with his last night, too? Or were you just cuddling and flirting all alone in his bed?"
"You know I would never," I responded, offended that he would even allude to that.
"Why not? I did," Collin said nonchalantly, his jaw dropping after the words came out of his mouth.
"Bastard," I seethed, pushing him into the drivers door of his car, "You fucking didn't!"
"I drunk! I didn't know what I was doing!"
"Drunk sex is still fucking sex, you fucking asshole!"
"Maybe if you weren't hanging around Mr. NHL I wouldn't have to," He yelled while shoving me back.
"Get your hands off her," Nolan said, putting his hand on Collin's chest and pushing him away.
"Buddy, I know you're used to fighting her battles for her, but she's a big girl now. She can handle a little shove when she deserves one."
"You better watch your fucking mouth."
"Is that a threat?" Collin said, bringing his face dangerously close to Nolan's.
"Yeah, it is. So before I bash your face in, I suggest you get the hell out of here."
"Fine, I will," Collin responded, opening his car door, "Be careful, bitch. You don't wanna run into me when you don't have your little bodyguard with you."
"I said get the hell out of here."
