Put your story text here...A year ago on my twentieth birthday, was the day that changed
my life. After my surprise party, my best friend Aly and I went to
a local coffee shop called 'Coffee beans' (typical right?) and it so
happened to be karaoke night. Aly signed me up without my
knowledge, so I was just sitting there, sipping my coffee,
minding my own business when I heard my name being called.
"Lindsay Tyler your up next." I nearly choked on my mocha latte.
"Did you do this?" I asked her
"Come on Linds, you can't blame me for doing this. You and I
both know you are a kickass singer, so get your ass up there and
sing." Aly smiled
I nervously stood up and walked onto the stage. I took the mic
from the announcer-guy and searched through all the choices. I
didn't find a song that I loved so I ended up picking 'The Climb'
by Miley Cyrus. I didn't really like Miley Cyrus, but some of her
music wasn't that bad. After I belted out the song, hitting every
note and pitch perfectly, everyone cheered and screamed "Encore!"
I didn't take up on the second song because there was no other
song that I liked. I made my way off the stage, heading over to
the table where Aly and I were sitting at when a man wearing a
fancy suit, holding a briefcase, the whole nine yards, stopped me.
"Excuse me, Ms. Tyler, may I have a minute?" He asked me.
"Um. Sure." I said nervously. I have no idea who this man is. We
took a seat a some random table, that was close to mine and Aly's,
but it was out of hearing range.
"Hello, I'm Mike Williams, but you can call me Mike." he smiled
"Hi Mike." I greeted
"Now, Ms. Tyler, I saw you singing up there and I just wanted to let
you know you have a gift. A very raw, natural, talent." he said "I also
want to tell you that I am music producer and I wanted to know if
you are willing to come by the studio, so I can introduce you to some
agents, and get you familiar with the business." he finished
"Are you serious? You want me to sing for you?" I was stunned.
"Yes, of course, Ms. Tyler, you are an amazing singer, we would be
very pleased to have you apart of your team." he said.
"Okay." I said still shocked.
"Here." he searched through his jacket pocket and pulled out a
business card. "Just call that number, ask for Linda, then tell
her your name, and she will tell you when to come in and sing."
"Oh, I never written a song." I said
"Well you can learn, or that's what we pay people for that. So
just call tomorrow and I'll see you soon." Mike said and walked
