Grimlock's Family

Tunnels are a bad idea

Grimlock grabbed what he could seeing as the base was badly damaged and low on supplies so staying here would just be waiting for death. "Sapphire you grabbed the supplies I told you about?" Grimlock looked towards Sapphire seeing her carrying tools and energon cubes, she was similar to an ant as she could lift and carry things heavier than her, she got this wonderful ability from her sire.

"I-I got everything you asked me to get!" She chirped with pride as she was happy to help her Sire in anyway. Grimlock walked forward towards a closed door as he easily knocked the door down revealing a escape tunnel "we'll use these tunnels to travel safely, I don't want you hurt again" he spoke to his sparkling in a caring manner. They cautiously went down the tunnel as it was pitch black, Grimlock could see as he had small lights upon his frame giving him a little light in from of him so he could see where he was going while Sapphire followed behind her sire carefully as she almost clung to his legs.

Grimlock was lost in his thoughts once again before the silence was broken by his sparkling, "Sire.. why don't you transform and drive down the tunnel?" Sapphire asked curiously. Grimlock didn't know how to answer to his sparkling as he was no longer a vehicle and he only transformed due to the amount of rage coursing through in his veins. "Sapphire.." Grimlock looked to her slightly worried of what she might think as Sapphire looked concerned as well as she felt his worry through the spark bond.

"What's wrong-?" She asked concerned for her sire's health, while Grimlock turned back around deciding he didn't want to go into it as he continued to make his way down the tunnel. Sapphire knew not to bother him with the subject anymore as she quieted herself. Grimlock suddenly stopped making Sapphire softly bump into his leg as he quickly looked back to her and quickly brought her to some cover behind some rubble that have broken off the tunnel's support beams as he placed down the supplies he was holding before looking over the cover. He knew he heard something as he saw a crowd of insecticons eating away at the walls creating another hive, while two larger insects patrolled around the crowd. Grimlock knew he needed to get pass them but it'd be difficult for him not to transform due to his rage but didn't want to scare Sapphire as the last thing he wants is his own sparkling to be afraid of him.

"Sapphire I need you to stay here, no tricks no sneaking away- nothing, I need you here to be safe" he ordered her as he held her shoulders. Sapphire looked up at him knowing he was deadly serious as she quickly nodded in response. Grimlock took out his large sword before leaving the cover of the rubble and quickly charged the bugs that were in the way, Grimlock was able to take out many of the smaller bugs before the medium sized insects started nipping and biting at him causing Grimlock's rage to slowly rise as an aura of orange and red began to appear around his armoured plating. He knew he shouldn't transform in front of Sapphire as he could see her at the corner of his optics with fear painted across her face. As his rage built up he was unable to feel the bond between him and his sparkling, this saddened him greatly but also relieved him as it meant she couldn't feel his dangerous rage.

Grimlock continued to slash at the insects before being tackled and shocked at the same time, he was slammed into the tunnel support beam causing the tunnel to tremble showing it's unstableness. He roared out in pain as his raging aura glows brighter showing he was beyond pissed off as he looked down at the large beetle like creature in anger as he tried to free his servos from the beetles pinchers. Then a loud high pitched scream grabbed his attention as he turned to see Sapphire on the floor trying to crawl away from the other beetle that was patrolling here, "SAPPHIRE!" He yelled out with worry seeing the beetle go for her as it grabbed her and began to shock her while crushing her causing Sapphire to cry out in pain. This crossed the line for Grimlock as he ripped his servos free before transforming into his large beast form crushing the beetle that held him captive with his feet, he turned to the beetle that was hurting his sparkling as Grimlock let out a mighty roar before charging the beetle and grabbing it by the torso causing the insect to drop Sapphire roughly as she quickly crawled away to a safer distance as she sobbed in pain and fear. Grimlock smashed the beetle against the tunnel wall in a fit of rage crushing the insects body with every slam, but while doing this Grimlock was causing the tunnel to become more unstable as the ceiling began to cave in. He felt the rubble fall onto his back this brought Grimlock's mind out of a blinding rage as he growled in pain before dropping the beetle body. He looked to the ceiling and acted quickly running over to Sapphire to protect her from the raining debris. He stood over her protectively as she curled up into a ball sobbing in fear to what was happening.

The tunnel collapsed upon the mighty Dinobot and his sparkling, crushing what remained of the insecticons. Sapphire opened her optics as they were still filled with tears of fear as she looked up using the very little light she was creating to see a large creature holding up the caved in ceiling with its back, the beasts attention was directed back to her seeing she was safe for now. Grimlock stayed in his beast form afraid if he would change the rubble would collapse onto them, so he held it back with all his strength as he looked to his sparkling seeing she was processing what just happened. "Sapphire.. are you alright..?" Grimlock asked with concern lacing his tone, Sapphire slowly rubbed her optics as she nodded slowly. Sapphire softly trembled seeing this frightening form of her sire and also the fact that they could be crushed at any moment if his strength gives in.

"S-Sire are y-you oki?" She whimpered looking up to him as he softly chuckled and replied "of course I am little one, I am the strongest Autobot who lives" he said with pride, trying to cheer up his saddened sparkling. After a few moments of processing in silence, Grimlock knew he needed to find a way out for his sparkling as he used his tail to slowly dig his way out of the rubble, Sapphire saw this and quickly began to help her sire as she finally pushed some rubble out of the way allowing her to get out but she quickly stopped trying to get out as she turned back to her sire, "w-what about you-?" She whimpered not wanting to leave him like this. Grimlock simply chuckled once again "I have escaped worse, I just need you to stand back" he reassured his sparkling as Sapphire moved away from the rubble before seeing the rubble suddenly be thrown away as the large Dinobot burst through the debris before turning to his Sparkling and transforming back into his robot form as he gave a heavy huff showing it did exhaust him from holding up such a large object. Sapphire quickly clung to her sire for comfort and also out of happiness as she was glad he got out. Her sire picked her up as he looked around for the supplies before sighing "guess we lost the supplies to the cave in.." he huffed with annoyance, "A cave in you caused" she giggled mischievously at her Father who chuckled back softly, "Hm.. you are right there, well.. we need to carry on" he said almost as if he was reminding himself as he began to walk down the tunnel.

They travelled down the long tunnel for an hour before getting to a large door to which had a passcode but Grimlocks digits were too big for it so he simply did what any sensible mech would do, he destroyed the passcode device with a single punch before prying the door open. "You know Sire you could've asked me to put in the code" Sapphire giggled softly while Grimlock huffed "and where's the fun in that?"

The door had opened up to the open cybertronian world as the base that was once there was destroyed from a bombing run. Grimlock sighed "so much for another base to rest at.." as he carried his Sparkling across the battleground of the destroyed city in hopes of finding a building to recharge in, he continued on before suddenly getting a stinging sensation in his spark as he looked down to Sapphire who seemed to already be in peaceful recharge. Grimlock knew this sting wasn't a physical injury it was a spark bond sting which was strange seeing as Sapphire was fine and resting, until realisation hit him as he knew what it meant. As he quickly began to look around hoping to find the one he'd been searching for, he went into a slightly damaged building knowing it would be safe for Sapphire inside than out in the open. He knew that his beloved was close by somewhere but he had to look after his youngest Sparkling, he knew far to well that his Sparkmate could feel his sadness, want, and pain he had in his spark which made him feel guilty but Grimlock knew it would keep his Sparkmate around, along with knowing she would not stop looking for him until every rock was flipped over.
