*Kharuna's POV*
I froze in my spot, not knowing how to respond. Everyone congratulates me and clap their hands for me, someone dragged me and I don't even know who, all I knew is I'm at the center of the crowd, being praised, every single soul was happy for me.
But my instinct got me to look at my sister, she claps as if it's nothing to her, Aiz was beside her with a worried look. I don't know how to feel, I'm confused.
Should I be happy? Or sad?
I feel pressured.
No, I do not deserve this.
My sister finally left the dance floor. The crowd form around me and I tried to escape it to follow Sheena. I rush through it and finally reached the balcony where she went.
"S-Sheena I—"
"It's okay Kharuna." She looked back and smile, the cold wind blew her hair. Her eyes show sadness, she looked down with those eyes. "I am not fit to rule this kingdom in the eyes of Mama."
"N-no!"
"Kharuna, I'm fine." Her voice growing distant. "I don't need your pity." Cold as ice, those words left chills down to my spine. I left the balcony, I feel like I betrayed her, she wanted to be the ruler.
I'm the reason her dream won't come true now.
The celebration ended and everyone went home. I came to Mama's room to confront her.
"The Princess Kharuna is here." Announced before I went in.
"Let her in."
"Mama." I said as calmly as possible.
"How's the party did you enjoy it?" She said as she was stamping a couple of papers.
"Well yes but I need to talk about you about that—"
She stopped what she is doing and look at me right in the eyes. "Kharuna, if this is about you being next to the throne. I'm afraid I cannot change my mind about that."
"Mama, Sheena is the eldest it'll be more reasonable for her to be queen, she is talented and hard-working, beautiful a-and." Mama placed her hand on my cheeks.
"My daughter you both are my precious daughters" she said and caressed my cheek lightly. "There just some circumstances that cannot be done."
"It doesn't make any sense."
She sighs. "Our kingdom has been mostly in chaos and I've managed to return it to the peaceful kingdom it was once. Now as a ruler, I have to secure this peace not only in my time of reign but also in the future. You have to understand that I chose you because the Prince Kyrie took a liking to you and in case of unfortunate events, you can marry him, unite our kingdoms for—"
"What? You'll have me marry their prince?"
"Kharuna I'm just open for a greater potential for this kingdom."
"I even don't get to chose who I will marry?"
"It's for the better—"
