I jog around a tall barrier and duck under the stage, the clink of my bright heels drown out by the loud screams of a couple hundred fans. The static in the walkie talkie, clipped at the pocket of my black jumpsuit, cuts out and the nasal voice of a tech guy signals that we are about to go live.
The screams get louder and I know that Lara Spencer and Michael Straha have stepped out on stage. I give the go ahead sign to the first guy beside the steep, stage steps and Lara Spencer's voice comes alive on the speakers.
"We are about to be joined by some of music's biggest artists. Please give a warm welcome to...."
