Chapter 1
AUDRIANNA
"Great, I'm late!" Luis will surely be mad at her as soon as she would arrive at Studio 8. She overslept again. She's been busy doing her schoolwork last night. It has been a hard time balancing her school work and modeling job. Luis is her agent for two years now. He's become a friend and mother to her since the day of her first photo shoot.
Inside the elevator, she's impatiently tapping the floor while waiting for the floor numbers to move a tad faster. She has been sighing every time the elevator door opens. Once in a while, she'd check her reflection on the elevator mirror. Her brown hair is flowing on her shoulders. Her cheekbones are definitely her mom's Spanish side. Her eyes and lips show irritation. Yet she maintains a calm face. She has little make up on: some lip balm and blush. She looks at her plain white mini dress and a ubiquitous beige trench she threw over it. Her big black leather shoulder bag hanging from her right shoulder matches her black strappy high heels. A last minute looks at her outfit.
She has been modeling for two years now and recently, Luis got this big break for her by becoming the newest and youngest angel for Victoria's Secret lingerie collection. After that, things become a blur to her. Many projects came along like posing for big designer jeans, clothes, perfumes and whathaveyou. Now, she's going to this photo shoot for the cover of Fashion Police magazine. It's her first print cover on this glamorous magazine since she started part time two years ago.
Outside, the weather is sunny but not hot. Addie heads to her car. Her baby is a brilliant black Audi TT coupe. Having her kind of job pays a lot. And now, she got her dream car. She also got some money at the bank and has recently acquired this condominium that she's still paying with her income from her gigs as a model.
Her phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hey, honey?" Preston, her boyfriend for almost a year now-since 1st year of college, is on the phone. He's her best friend since childhood. After they graduated from high school, they went to the same college and decided to be together. After all, he confessed he likes her ever since.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Just thinking it's been a while since we went out. And I know you don't have classes today so... maybe we can have dinner tonight to catch up?"
"Umm... okay... I'm just heading to the studio to finish this photo shoot then I'm free I guess."
"Oh, really? That's good. I really miss you, Hun."
"Oh! I miss you too!" she knows she really should make it up to Preston. What kind of girlfriend is she? It's been two weeks since they saw each other. Geez, she really needs to make time for her boyfriend.
Her life after her launching as an angel has become busy. But in reality, she knows her priority and it's not Preston, it's her career. As a model, she really works hard to be here and now it's getting good. She can't afford to lose it just for him or just for the sake of this relationship.
Don't get me wrong; she loves Preston. Like, he's been there in her hard times especially during THAT time. That was the day Travis left her hanging and broken. The day she almost gave up on everything. But Preston was there to comfort and be the best friend she ever wanted. But there's always missing. She doesn't know what it is yet. She's happy with Preston. But there's always something missing.
"Hello? Hun, are you still there?"
"Yup..."
"Right. So, I'll call you later then." She heard a sigh from Preston.
"Okay, bye." she said.
"Hun?"
"Yes?"
"I love you." Preston trailed the words.
