Hi. My name is Bridgette Cheng, and I'm just a girl who wants an ordinary life. But that wish will have to wait a while because right now, I was Ladybug, Paris' superheroine. And I was fighting the strongest opponent I'd ever faced.

The villain stood atop the building, laughing. I watched them from behind the remains of a smashed blue Prius, breathing heavily.

This battle had been going on for over two hours, but the Akuma victim refused to grow tired. Their white sharpened teeth gnashed together into a feral grin as they spotted my hiding spot.

They threw a chunk of the building at me, and I dodged just in time, running towards Kid Mime's hiding spot behind a chunk of metal from a billboard.

5 heroes, my friends and co-workers, were sprawled on the ground, their bodies broken and bloodied. Only myself and Kid Mime still stood, but even then, we were both close to collapsing.

I looked at Kid Mime and he managed a smile. "One more time. You can do this." He wheezed. I nodded and stanced myself.

"Ladybug, go!" Kid Mime created a slingshot and launched me at the villain. I grabbed my yo-yo and whipped it out, the disk flying at my opponent.

The villain laughed and took out their phone, pressing the screen once. My eyes widened in fear as I realized their true powers. I could feel my body dissolving, and I let out a scream of fear as my essence disappeared from existence.

Hello. My name is Marinette Dupein-Cheng. And I'm just a normal girl with a normal life. Or that's what everyone thinks. In reality, I'm Ladybug, wielder of the ladybug miraculous. But I may not be it for much longer. Because right now, I was fighting the strongest enemy I'd ever seen.

The akumatized person stood on top of the building, laughing. I watched them from behind the Louvre, breathing heavily, sweat dripping down my forehead.

This battle had been going on for only an hour, but I was already growing tired. The villain's white sharpened teeth gleamed in a feral grin as they spotted my hiding spot.

They threw a green blast of energy at me, and I dodged just in time, running towards Chat Noir's hiding spot behind a tree.

3 heroes, my friends and co-workers, were sprawled on the ground, unconscious. Only myself and Chat Noir still stood, but even then, we were both close to collapsing.

I looked at Chat Noir and he managed a smile. "One more time. You can do this." He encouraged. I nodded and stanced myself.

"Ladybug, go!" Chat Noir threw me into the air when he extended his pole and launched me at the villain. I grabbed my yo-yo and whipped it out, the disk flying at my opponent.

The villain laughed and took out their phone, pressing the screen once. My blue eyes widened as I realized their true powers. I could feel my body disappearing, and I let out a scream of fear as I disappeared from existence.

Hi. My name is Claude Fabron, but I bet you've never even heard of me. I'm just a high school kid. But I'm also someone else. Kid Mime, Paris' Mime Superhero. And while I might've cracked a joke at any other time, right now was not the time for laughter.

Chériecheur stood atop the building, laughing. I watched them from behind the broken part of a metal billboard, trying to catch my breath.

This battle had been going on for over two hours, but the Chériecheur refused to slow down long enough for Ladybug and me to form a plan of attack. Their white sharpened teeth gnashed together into a feral grin as they spotted Ladybug's hiding spot. "Oh isn't this sweet? Are you two lovers? Are you staying separated on purpose? Well, let me fix this!" She screamed.

They threw a chunk of the building at her, and she dodged just in time, running towards my hiding spot with a look of terror on her masked face.

She was beautiful, sure, but Chat Noir was already flirting with her. Plus, she wasn't my type. But that didn't mean I couldn't protect her.

A piece of shrapnel flew at her and I mimed a shield on her back, which deflected the rock. She slid next to me, and tears were forming. She was scared.

I could see why. Our friends and co-workers were sprawled on the ground, their bodies broken and bloodied. Only she and I still stood, but even then, we were both close to collapsing.

I looked at her and managed a smile. "One more time. You can do this." I wheezed, trying to sound brave. She nodded and stanced herself, but she was trembling.

"Ladybug, go!" I created a slingshot and launched her at the villain. She grabbed her yo-yo and whipped it out, the disk flying at our opponent.

The villain laughed and took out their phone, pressing the screen once. My eyes widened in horror as I realized what I'd done. I could see Ladybug's body dissolving, and I let out a scream as she disappeared from existence.

The villain laughed, smiling. I looked at them, and I felt hatred rise up in my chest. I stood and, with tears in my eyes, mimed a gun. I took aim and fired, aiming directly for Chériecheur.

She screamed as the bullets penetrated her heart, and her body fell to the ground. By the time it hit the pavement, it was just a human, dead from the fall. I shot at the Akuma, and the cursed butterfly exploded. I won, but did I really?

Ladybug was gone. Or so I thought until I saw a familiar blue-haired friend appear right where she'd been. But this time, she was unconscious. I rushed as fast as I could to grab her, and I barely made it in time.

I was lucky, but she was luckier. Things never come back after a villain attacks it. I should know. That's how my brother lost his sidekick.

-O-

How are you? My name is Adrien Agreste. Yes, its really me, the famous supermodel. But I didn't care about that right now. I was Chat Noir, Paris' cat miraculous wielder. And my heart was in agony.

The villain laughed and took out their phone, pressing the screen once. My eyes widened in horror as I realized what I'd done. I could see Ladybug's body dissolving, and I let out a scream as she disappeared from existence.

The villain laughed, smiling. I looked at them, and I felt anger rise up in my chest. I stood and, with tears in my eyes, raised my claw. "CATACLYSM!" I screamed as a battle cry, running towards the villain. I climbed up the building and ran at her, reaching out to touch her akumatized phone.

She screamed as I touched the phone and it crumbled into dust, taking the cursed butterfly with it. I won, but did I really? There was no Miraculous Ladybug to save the city, restore it back to the way it was, and Ladybug, the love of my life, was gone.

She was never coming back. Or so I thought until I saw a familiar red and black suit appear right where she'd been. But this time, she was unconscious. I rushed as fast as I could to grab her, and I barely made it in time.

I was unlucky, but somehow, today Lady luck was on my side. Ladybug was with me, and that was the best thing I could ask for.

Especially after thinking that this would be the second girl in my life to disappear right in front of me.
