Naomi's blue eyes opened as the sunrays crept through the window blinds and illuminated the room. Normally she wouldn't be up at this time but it was her birthday today and who wouldn't be up on the occasion of their birthday?

With a smile, she threw away her blanket and got into her slippers. Shaking with excitement she ran to the balcony and with one firm push, slammed the doors open.

"Yaaaaay," she shouted to no one in particular as her brunette long hair waved with the soothing morning breeze.

"Mmmmm, that feels good. Wish every day was a birthday," she said as she stretched her hands while yawning.

She closed her eyes, took in a deep breath and sighed in content as the fragrant fresh morning air went down her throat, filling her chest with cool contentment. It was blissful and perfect, with several avian Pokemon like Pidgeots and Fearows flying around the castle as she watched from the balcony.

She looked down to see the knights drilling with the new recruits of the Kanto army. Several Pokemon played in the Garden of Five Senses as she spied on all of them from her balcony. It was perfect and nothing could ruin it except as always a timed knock on her door ruined her blissful solitude. Naomi sighed and then walked back inside her room.

She sat on the bed and monotonously said, "Come in."

"Princess! You are awake!" Daisy, her personal chambermaid, asked in surprise as she curtsied after entering the room.

"Daisy. How many times have I told you not to curtsy with me?" Naomi said before she got off the bed.

"It's proper etiquette princess. Besides, today is the royal ball to celebrate your birthday princess. Several distinguished honoured dignitaries and guests will be arriving today to attend your party. You'll be expected to be on your best behaviour," Daisy said before she went and rang a bell attached adjacent to the princess' bedside table.

"Yes. I know," Naomi replied with a silent tone.

"Don't worry. You'll have fun," Daisy replied while giving a warm smile.

"Thanks, Daisy. You're the best," Naomi replied before giving Daisy a hug.

"Princess. I'll draw you a bath, while you brush your teeth," Daisy replied as Naomi nodded before rushing towards the bathroom.

While Naomi brushed her teeth, Daisy went to the bathtub. She took out a Poke-ball and released her trusty Quilava.

"You know what to do," Daisy said with a smile as Quilava nodded before climbing to the rim of the filled bathtub and then breathing fire down onto the water for a few seconds. After it was finished she dipped a couple of fingers in the water to test the temperature as steam gently floated into the air.

"Good boy," Daisy complimented before returning Quilava to its Poke-ball.

"Princess your bath is nice and warm, just the way you like it," Daisy shouts.

"Coming," Naomi sang back as she ran into the bathroom.

"I'll leave you to it," Daisy replied before closing the door on the way out.

Twenty minutes later Naomi stepped out of the bathroom, covered in a towel. She looked at her bed only to see her clothes laid out for her. After slipping into them, she called for Daisy who promptly returned to the room, walking at a brisk pace.

"Jewellery," Naomi said in an impatient tone as she sat before a mirror.

"Yes, princess. Since it is your birthday might I be so bold so as to suggest the emerald necklace along with the opal earrings? They should go well with your chiffon dress," Daisy said as she grabbed the jewellery box.
