KIM TAENA

"Is this a joke?"

Taena cannot believe that the words slip out of her mouth as she looks at the person in seat 37 at the orientation.

"Princess, good to see you."

Taena internally groans at she sits down. Half of the line for the first-year contemporary dance class been filled so far and Taena knows that more will come soon since there was at least 45 minutes left before it actually starts. Jimin decided to rush her this morning, and Seokjin helped him by loading her luggage in his car last night instead of this morning to kill some time.

Jimin said that he would leave all of Taena's things in her room and then wait for her until she was done with her orientation. She agreed and collected the key, ran back to give it to him and then went to the venue.

Once she had entered, she was directed by one of the older years to the Academy of Dance section and been told she needs to sit according to her registration number which was 38, after a large range of other numbers.

"You don't talk much, do you?" The boy asks her, and she doesn't know whether it's a good idea or not to ignore him; then she thinks of how he acted the other day and chooses to ignore him. "That's too bad, Princess. I bet we would have some really interesting conversations."

Taena spends the rest of the wait texting Yeonjun who has self-study. He texts her pictures of the library and his textbooks and ultimately pictures of himself when she tells him that as much as she respects his course, there's a reason she did not enter his course or similar courses.

"Alright, we're ready to start now. Ladies and gentlemen, who are actually our first-years, welcome to The Fine Arts!" Taena recognises the voice as Miss Choi, except this this time, she's not dressed in her casual jeans and a loose t-shirt. She's smartly dressed in a fitted skirt and blouse set that screams authority and her hair is pulled up into a neat bun with a few strands shaping her face. A loud smatter of applause follows her introduction and she continues. "Before your mentors show you around the building and then your dormitory workshop begins, you will be addressed by someone very special."

Taena cranes her neck to see Headmistress Choi approaching the podium and she watches Miss Choi step away. The boy next to her makes an unusual movement with his hand at the stage and Taena scoffs. "Have some respect at least," she tells him, "she's the head of the university."

The boy says nothing, but he does roll his eyes at Taena.

"Students, it fills me with great joy to welcome you all to this institution. All of you have worked extremely hard, and countless hours of dedication have been sacrificed towards your place here The Fine Arts. Please understand that the hard work does not stop here, it only gets, for a lack of better words, worse, and you will be pushed to the maximum. Please continue to work hard, and all the best to you in your respective courses!"
