3rd Person POV
Meredy roamed the hallways of the school, her heart upset because of what had happened yesterday. She felt bad about all the things she had been doing. All the pain she had caused others.
She didn't get it anymore why she was doing it.
"A penny for your thoughts?" a teasing voice pulled her away from her mind. Immediately she snapped her head towards the voice and blinked when she came face to face with a white-haired boy with hazel eyes and pale skin.
"Who are you?" Meredy asked softly, looking around to see if anybody was around. She relaxed when realizing only she and the stranger were in the hallway.
"Lyon Vastia if you must know my lady." the stranger's lips quirked upwards into a playful smirk. Had she heard that name before? Maybe, she couldn't quite remember. Meredy grinned, "My name is Meredy." was all she said.
"Of course, of course. You and your friends have quite the reputation here already." the sentence made her smile fall off, instead, being replaced by her stomach dropping. With a small frown making its way to her lips she started walking again, ignoring Lyon.
"Shit, I wasn't supposed to say that was I?" Lyon cursed, his voice echoing in the hallway. Meredy only sighed and looked down at the floor. She felt guilty enough already but hearing that she was only known as that made her feel even worst.
"Hey, sorry I said that. I didn't mean to make you feel bad." Lyon apologized, putting a hand in her shoulder. Meredy only shrugged off his hand, "Its fine. It's not like it isn't true." she murmured.
"Still, that was an asshole move of me." Lyon for some reason kept walking with her. Meredy ignored him, mumbling again, "It's fine.". She continued her walk towards the front entrance.
They had just finished dismissing all busses and people. Meredy had expected for the hallways to be empty by now. Well, she was clearly mistaken, that was proved by the presence next to her.
"Listen," Lyon grabbed her arm gently, stopping her from leaving the building. "I'm sorry again, I didn't mean to upset you." he gave her a small smile. It was cute, exactly like he was.
Lucy would be interested in this one-
This thought made Meredy frown because she didn't want to think like that anymore. But after being in this train thought for years, habits weren't going to be easy to break. Not with the fear of being hurt standing in between her and progress.
"It's fine," Meredy smiled back softly, "really. I'm just having a bad day today. It has nothing to do with your comment. And even if it did, I would be petty for getting upset over something that's true." she shrugged her shoulders.
Lyon frowned, still clearly guilty but didn't say anything else. "Ok, but that was still rude, Sorry." he finally settled with that. Meredy just shrugged her shoulders but said nothing, She continued walking towards the exit.
She looked around and frowned when she didn't see Kagura's car. She was usually the one who drove her and Lucy home. Talking about Lucy, her blonde haired friend jogged towards her with a frown.
"Kagura isn't here," she announced the obvious. Meredy nodded, "Do you know where she went?" she asked. Lucy shook her head, her blond hair that was tied in a ponytail swished with the movement of her head,
"No, and I didn't bring my car today." Lucy sighed, huddling her sweater closer to her once a cold breeze passed over to them. Meredy did the same, shivering and cursing Kagura for not warning them that she was not going to drive them home that afternoon.
"Neither did I. Stupid Kagura, why didn't she tell us she was going to be busy." Meredy murmured with a small scowl being present in her lips. Lucy sighed, "Everyone else has already left and unless we want to call the chauffeur we will have to find another way to go home..
Meredy winced. Lucy nor any of the girls liked calling the chauffeur to pick them up because then he would scold them for not being 'responsible' and that they weren't ready to live by themselves if they couldn't even find transportation in their own.
"I can take you!"
Meredy looked back at a black car that had pulled up, the face of the boy she had talked to was in the driver's seat. "You know him?" Lucy asked, her lips curling into a flirting smile. The way she stood up straighter and twirled her hand in her finger made it clear she was interested.
'I knew she was going to like him' Meredy sighed, frowning because she didn't want her friend to mess with Lyon.
"You don't have-"
"Please," Lucy cut her off, "Our friend ditched us for god knows what and we have no way to get home." she batted her eyelashes as a sweet smile curled on her lips. She leaned down to the window where Lyon was and send him a dazzling smile.
'Lucy-" Meredy sighed, "The-'
"Yo blondie!"
Everyone whipped their heads towards the sound where the scream had come from.
Leaning against a clearly expensive red sports car was a salmon messy haired guy around their age. His lightly tan skin and the wide grin he upheld illuminated his whole face reminding Meredy of someone. She just couldn't remember who.
Lucy's lips curled downward into a disgusted scowl, "Are you talking to me," she bitterly spat.
The salmon haired guy ignored the obvious dislike in Lucy's voice. "Are there any more blondies in here?" he spread his arms to make his point about the obvious empty parking lot. His grin seemed to infuriate Lucy further making the blonde roll her eyes.
"What do you want?" Meredy had never seen Lucy lose her cool so easily towards anyone. The salmon haired guy seemed to by just his presence get in her nerves.
Well, this was new.
"You need a ride home don't ya? Well how about it," he extended his arm towards his car, lifting an eyebrow expectantly at Lucy. Talking about her, the blonde gaped, almost offended by the way he was talking to her.
"How about no." Lucy gritted her teeth, finger that had been twirling around her hair tightened around it enough for her to wince. She did not like the salmon haired asshole, not with how he had first introduced himself.
"You two seem to know each other," Meredy grabbed Lucy's shoulders, pushing her towards the cute pink haired guy. "Why don't you two catch up and talk things out." ignoring the glare her friend was throwing at her Meredy continued to push her friend.
"Meredy Lock-"
"Hey Lyon I'll take the offer, thanks!" Meredy opened the passenger seat of the car and entered. Without even bothering to look at the friend she had just betrayed she turned to Lyon, indicating with just her eyes to drive. Lyon thankfully understood and steeped in the pedal, leaving Lucy and the salmon haired guy behind.
