3rd Person POV
"Where are we going?" Alex asked, looking around the deserted hallways. Kagura only said one word, "Cafeteria.". After the unusual reactions she had moments ago, she had been more quiet for some reason.
"But lunch's about to be over." Alex stated, taking a quick glance at the clock that was up ahead. Only 5 minutes before their next class started. Just as he said those words the warning bell rang, signaling the bell was going to ring in 5 minutes.
"I know, but we spent all of our lunch time in the library and you haven't eaten anything since breakfast. Assuming you did eat breakfast." Kagura looked up to Alex just to see his surprised expression turn slightly guilty.
"You did eat breakfast didn't you Alex?" she demanded for his answer, stopping and narrowing her eyes when he looked even more sheepish under her striking gaze. He looked down as his feet and started tapping his thumb against each of his fingers.
"Um...you see I uh..."
"Alex, a straight answer would be very appreciated." Kagura rolled her eyes, wondering herself why she was feeling so protective over a shy kid who shared her same interests and had only met once 2 months ago. She couldn't describe the worry that grew inside her.
"W-well um, no. But it was because I needed to finish my homework! Besides I wasn't very hungry and-" Alex stammered, trailing off when he saw Kagura shake her head disapprovingly.
"You've been at school for more than 5 hours without any food and the last time you ate anything was yesterday. You better had eaten dinner or so help me!" She started walking towards the exit, pulling Alex along with her. The blonde opened his mouth, "I did, ok?" he muttered softly.
"Wait! Why are we walking towards the exit!" Alex started to pull his hand, nervously glancing around the hallways. He was never much of a rule breaker, always sticking with being invisible and going along with the flow to stay out of trouble.
"You're a smart boy aren't you?" Kagura rolled her eyes.
"B-but school's not over yet!" Alex stuttered, his voice full of worry for being caught. Kagura scoffed, "Yeah and you haven't eaten anything all day. I doubt the school will want you fainting in the middle of class because you have anything in that stomach of yours.".
They reached the door and before Alex could protest any further Kagura opened it and slipped them outside. The slightly chilly air hit them both making them shudder from having just came from the warmth.
Kagura cursed herself for letting Erza barrow her jacket. She gritted her teeth and stalked towards her car with purpose. The boy behind her just followed her silently, not saying a word before abruptly stopping and pulling Kagura back.
Immediately she noticed the resistance and turned around, shivering slightly but refusing for it to get in between her speech. "What is it?" she asked, licking her lips and cursing the cold air that nipped her skin.
"You're cold." Alex mumbled worriedly, lips forming a frown. "I'm fine." Kagura objected, digging the heel of her foot towards the ground when a breeze passed her. Alex shook his head.
"You can have my hoodie if you want." he proposed, already releasing her hand and slipping his arms under the material. Kagura opened her mouth to protest, "You don't have to!" she blurted out.
"I have a jacket underneath." Alex said just as he took off the hoodie and held it in his hands. Where before his hair had been carefully styled now the blonde hair that curled slightly at the tips was completely messy.
