PRINCESS EOLEUM FOCUS
The sun was just beginning to rise over the kingdom surrounded by purple flowers and meadows of yellow and green trees. A kingdom of peace and tranquility where everyone lived in equality, or so was believed. Not everyone felt that things were equal among them. Certain royals felt burdened by the constant nagging of the monarchy, royals who were young and didn't quite understand the importance of holding peace within their kingdoms, showing the people who they rule over that they were to follow every rule as if they were set in stone.
Technically, they were. Rules etched into the stone of the palace walls, a castle that stood high and strong in the weather and disasters that constantly threatened it with destruction. Not that anyone would be scared if the palace walls were knocked down, it would likely never happen.
The sun had begun to rise a bit more when there was a knock on a palace window located on the fourth floor. If anyone were to wake up and look at the palace during this sliver of daylight they would see the outline of a young man with wavy hair and a slim figure, if you had glanced over for just a split second you'd think he wad a princess attempting to hide her identity and sneak away.
The knock came again before there was a grumble and the sound of covers moving aside to the floor. In the silence of the palace you could barely hear the quiet steps as someone made their way to the window. And if you listen closely as the window opens, you could hear the small giggle of a princess and the soft chuckle of a prince.
You could hear the sounds of someone slipping in through the window, the soft thud of heeled boots hitting the wooden flooring of the young princess's bedroom.
You could listen closely for the giggling as they danced with no music, the prince taking the lead, chuckling each time he sped up his movements in the dancing, watching as the princess would srumble and nearly fall, but he'd always catch her.
And before she could scold him and remind him of what they would be doing the next day, he would whisper a soft, "Quiet now Eoleum, the sun is just rising, if they catch us dancing about your room, you in your night clothes and me without my proper attire, they won't invite me to your ball, now will they?"
And with those words said, the prince would begin dancing again, the princess smilingat how gentle his movements had become. She knew he had plans for the next night, plans that involved her and a few others. Plans that would get her out of a situation which she knew was not ideal for her.

Not long after their dancing had finished, the prince had slipped away, back to his palace to put on his proper attire. The princess changed from her night clothes and into the outfit she would wear that day.
A dress of soft green which she would wear out into the town of the kingdom which she would not rule. You see, she was to be married off the next day to a man who did not care for her, a bastard who would rather get drunk than learn anything about his future queen.
Listening closely you'd be able to hear a gentle knock on the door of the young maiden's room, a knock signalling it was time for the princess to head out. As the door opened, there stood a maid.
Her long red hair tied up on the top of her head, the yellow ribbon as noticeable as the smile plastered to the face of the princess standing before her.
"Good morning princess Eoleum, it's time for you to head into town. You will be accompanied by Xiao Chen while you are out, please be careful."
The princess smiled gently, "Thank you, Ms. Loren." was her reply as she curtsied and steped through the doorframe, heading on her way to where her personal knight stood.
The knight smiled at the princess before giving her a bow, "M'Lady," he said gently, standing straight and taking her hand in his, kissing her knuckles gently before carefully releasing her hand.
On their way out the door he slipped her a piece of parchment, not saying a word as to what it was.
The princess unfolded the parchment to find a note written on the inside, smiling softly at the slightly unreadable handwriting found on it.
A rose that blossoms on a winding road,
you can find me where the pastries are sold.
-A.T.
The princess gave a quiet laugh before bending down to tuck the note into her heels. She looked at her knight who gave her a slow nod.
"Shall we go to retrieve the pastries first M'Lady?" asked the young knight.
"Yes, I think we shall my good sir," she giggled in reply as they began walking into town.
