nine; family matters
Entering the Salvatore house Zatanna frowns when she sees Stefan and Zach sitting on the sofa whispering quietly.
"Stefan? Zach? What is it?"
Her mind flashes back to Batman and Wonder Woman telling her about her father's final fate back at mount justice and she looks away for a moment.
Stefan stands. "We have Damon locked away in the basement."
"What? Why? Did he kill Caroline?"
"No, he didn't kill anyone and I couldn't let it get to that point."
She sighs crossing her arms. "I'll go talk to him."
Stefam watched her turn and begin to walk away but grabs her arm gently. "Zatanna, be careful."
"I will, but Damon won't harm me Stefan."
Stefan is quiet for a moment. "I don't trust him."
The sorceress looks at him for a moment. "I do."
Making her way to the basement of the boarding house she stops at the top of the stairs.
There is a moment of silence before Damon speaks his voice hoarse. "Hey Z."
She smiles softly stopping in front of his cell his eyes piercing through the bars she responds. "Hey Dam."
"Come to talk some sense into me?"
She shakes her head making her way to the door. "No, I just came to keep you company."
There is a brief silence before Zatanna peeks inside the cell, frowning she sees Damon shackled to the wall.
"Why did you do it Damon?"
He shrugs he movements sluggish by his weakened state. "You know I'm the bad guy Z."
"No you're not Damon."
Damon scoffs, the sound soft as a cough escapes him. "Everyone has to blame someone Z and if that means Stefan can live his life. I would much rather have him hate me with a conscious then shut it off and have none."
The brunette home magic frowns. "Damon, Stefan doesn't hate you."
"Yes he does, he hates my choices. But that's okay."
"Hating you and hating your choices are different Dam."
"Well, us Salvatores can't seem to see the difference Z."
