Dangerous Territory

chapter 12

I run as fast as i can to get to Harry's house. I climb over the large gate and hope that they don't have some fancy security system. 

I knock at the front door, tears streaming down my face. 

"Courtney?" Nathan stands in the doorway looking down at me. 

"I need to see Harry" 

"Um, he's in his room." I move past Nathan and head to Harry's bedroom. I'm thankful that Nathan didn't mutter any sarcastic remark.

I knock once on Harry's door and i open it without him answering becuase i don't have the patience to wait. 

Harry is sitting on his lounge playing video games, he jumps as i barge through the door.

"Courtney! what the hell? Whats wrong?" He gushes standing to his feet. I shut the door behind me, not wanting his family to overhear our conversation.

"You were driving the car weren't you?" His expression changed from concern to guilt and worry.

"yes." He looks down at his hands, he looks hurt.

"I need to know what happened Harry. The truth. Was it an accident?" 

"what? of course it was an accident Courtney!" He startsand i don'tknow if he is angry or just hurt that i even have to ask the question. 

"Yes i was driving. We were fighting in the car about what happened with Nathan, everything i told you was the truth except for the part about me driving the car."

"Why did you lie to me? Why didn't you just tell me?"

"going around and telling people that i killed my ex girlfriend isn't exactly the best ice breaker. I don't like talking about it Courtney! Yes it was an accident but blood is still on my hands."

I am completely shocked. I am speechless as Harry explains to me what happened that night. 

"How did you find out?" He asks.

"My father. He had this file from the accident. He told me I couldn't see you anymore Harry." 

Harrys head shoots up at me as the words fall out of my mouth.

"What?" his voice is barely audible. 

"He told me im forbidden and that you are dangero-"

"But Courtney im not! It WAS an accident. Maybe if i had been paying more attention it wouldn't of happened. Courtney i can't be without you, we have to make him understand." 

"I know Harry, i know. I had to sneak out to get here. We can still be together, it just has to be a secret okay? we have to pretend like we aren't together anymore around everyone. Harry you don't know what my father is like, he will hurt you if he finds out that i have been anywhere near you." 

"Courtney i think i can look after myself."

"No Harry he has strings in all the right places. Where do you think he got that file from?"

"Shit" He hisses. 

"Im sorry but this is how it has to be for now" I walk closer to him and he opens his arms for my to walk into. I nuzzle myself into his chest and sob.

"Shh baby. We will make it work. I love you" He whispers. those three words seem to be making the stress and anxiety wash away. Harry loves me, I love him and no one can stop us from being together.

"I love you too" i say and i fell his kiss the top of my head. 

"I should go, before my father notices im not there" i give harry a swift kiss before i break away from him.
