I looked at my hands, feeling power spread through my veins. Lightning crackled in my hands, and through all of it, I smiled. The pain of the lies vanished and was replaced by power. In the distance you can hear crackles of thunder. Vex stares at me in confusion and fear. I feel my lightning overpower me. My veins burn and sting they feel like there about to burst. Lightning sparks burst out of every inch of my body. My body on the break of giving out. Until I feel the sharp pain like thousands of needles piercing my as my lightning lights up the room.

"Aeoicz!" Vex screams at the top of his lungs. My vision blurs I hear a crash from the window and a fast moving object fly past what vision I have left before I'm sent to darkness.

"Prince Aeoicz! Are you alright?" The tall man says in a familiar voice. He pulls me up and supports me with his arm as I fall into a darkness.

8 Years before...

I was awoken by someone shaking my arm.

"Aeoicz, wake up," someone said in a hushed voice. I opened my eyes slowly to see Yajirushi standing before me, smiling.

"What is it, Yajirushi?" I asked. I am surprised to see him here. Especially at night. He never breaks the curfew set out for us, ever.

"Wanna see something cool?" He asked. I thought about it. The middle of the night, I could get in trouble, but then again, I trust Yajirushi, and if he wants to show me something I know it's going to be cool.

"Yeah, show me," I said, flinging off the duvet. Yajirushi grinned. He grabbed my hand and went to the window.

"Ever wanted to go outside?" He turned to me, his smile widening. I felt a little unsure, but when I thought of the outside world, trees, fresh air outside the gardens, and I couldn't resist.

"Yeah," I said. He let go of my hand and opened the window, then with quick agility he jumped out the window onto the rooftop below. He looked up and gestured at me to follow.

"It's not that bad, it's easier than it looks," he said. I looked down, it wasn't that far of a jump, but that didn't make it any less scary. I took a deep breath and focused. I closed my eyes and jumped out the window, my feet hitting the roof. I flinched as a little bit of pain shot through my foot, but in a few seconds I was fine. Yajirushi smiled at me.

"You did great," he said. I beamed. I always wanted Yajirushi's approval. It meant more to me then my parents, anyway.

"Come on" he said, and together we slowly climbed down the walls to the ground. I had forgotten to put my shoes on, and so I could feel the cold cobblestones on my feet. Freedom. Not confined by castle gates.

"Yajirushi, this is awesome!" I said, giddy with excitement. He seemed to be as well.

"I know right! It gets better, there's a forest we can check out just nearby!"

"Really? Let's go!" I said quickly. I had only heard about forests in books, seen them in pictures, but never in real life. This is going to be great! He grabbed my hand again and we ran to the forest. The grass tickled my feet as we ran, the wind running past my face and through my hair. I felt free. We stopped by a big forest, the world darkening as we entered. I touched one of the tree trunks, and felt the bark on my fingers. We have all these trees and flowers and grass in the gardens, but it's not the same. I can still see the palace gates through the trimmed trees.

"This is amazing," I said in awe, looking up at the tree tops, seeing the moon filter through the leaves. He smiled at me and sat down on the ground. I followed suit. We sat together in silence for a moment, before he spoke.
