David: "Campe' Diem Camper! Isn't it a wonderful morning, can't you smell the sweet scent of nature!" David bounces joyfully as he takes a lungful of air. He breathes out smiling towards the sun.
Max: "Its too early for this, David!" Max retorts throwing his pillow at the back of David's head. Max groans throwing himself back into his covers wrapping himself in a burrito.
David: David turns around watching Max trying to make himself comfortable in his covers. David smiles as he reaches towards the blankets pulling them off of Max causing him to fall to the floor after being rolled out of his blankets. "Time to get up, Max!" David says cheerfully as the boy slowly picks himself up off the floor and groans glaring up at him. "C'mon!" David pipes opening the tent revealing the outside world to Max.
Max: "God damn it..." Max huffs sitting on his bed facing away from David. "Coffee!" He commands, David looks over his shoulder and smiles.
David: "Sure can do!" He hopped out of the tent and into the mess hall leaving Max back at the tent.
Neil: "What was that all about?" Neil asks rubbing his eyes.
Max: Max rolls his eyes with a sigh turning to face Neil. "Hell if I know. He's way too excited." Max says rubbing his eyes and yawning--slowly getting up from his bed. "Hey, Neil, how come Nikki hasn't woken us up this time?" Max asks as he pulls on his hoodie.
Neil: Neil taps his chin for a second. "I'm not sure... She did say she had something planned today. Why today I'm not sure."
Max: "Yeah, well, whatever it is its going to be some crazy adventure. I just want one quiet evening without all of these adventures and David." Max says getting his head stuck in his hoodie. "A little help?" Max asks.
Neil: Neil sighs getting from his bed making his way over to Max the pulling down his hoodie for him. "There. If you think that's hard try putting this sweater on with a head like mine."
Max: Max looks at Neil's sweater puzzled. "How do you even fit your head through that?"
Neil: "Don't even ask."
Outside the tent Nikki is on her way over to surprise her two friends, she isn't sure why she wants to do this, or why she even thought of it, but, maybe it has something to do with her lady parts she guessed.
Nikki: "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!" Nikki yells joyfully throwing a bunch of paper hearts everywhere in the boys' tent. Max and Neil look at each other then back at Nikki confused.
Max: "Valentine's Day?" Max asked quizzically as he picked up one of the paper hearts turning it over a few times before letting it flutter down to the ground.
Neil: "Yeah... Its not even February." Neil raised an index finger. Nikki rolled her eyes.
Nikki: "Psh! Who cares?! We would never spend Valentine's Day together in the first place so I thought why not do it now? Besides, have you *seen* everyone outside?" Nikki opened the tent's entrance revealing everyone giving each other paper hearts.
Max: "What the fuck?! Why?"
Nikki: "I'm glad you asked, Max! You see, Dolf and I had an idea: Since we won't be together for long why not celebrate a holiday that we wont ever get a chance to spend together?" Max pinched the bridge of his nose.
Max: "Nikki, it wouldn't have mattered because Valentine's Day isn't meant to be spent by friends." Max said sighing. Nikki tapped her lips as she looked up at the roof of the tent.
Nikki: "Huh, yeah, I guess that makes sense. I always saw my mom hanging out with her friends on Valentine's."
Neil and Max both sighed glaring at Nikki before shoving her out of the tent and throwing out the heart after her.
Neil: "So that was her surprise?" Neil asked.
Max: "Guess so. Well, whatever. I'm just going to continue on my day like none of this ever happened. Speaking of which--where the hell is my coffee?" Max asked himself nearing the entrance of the tent.
Neil: "Wait, you actually believed David would get you coffee?" Neil asked tilting his head. Max shook his head.
Max: "No, not really, besides he didn't grab my mug." Max holds up his 'NOPE' mug out before leaving the tent heading towards the back where he hid the Ms. Coffee machine. "Lets get this day started." He said before being interrupted.
David: "HEYA MAX!" David shouted making Max jump and nearly knocking over the Ms. Coffee machine.
Max: "What the fuck do you want, David?" Max was too tired to yell at David for starling him. David smiles and hands Max a white mug with a heart on it filled with coffee. Max looks down at it, but his focus was mostly on the design of the mug. "A...heart?" Max looks up at David he just stands there beaming.
David: "Yes! I made it myself on my day off!" David said placing his hands on his hips.
Max: "You. You made this?" David nodded. Max looked back down at the mug then back at David. He sighs taking a sip of the coffee. "Not bad." He says outloud.
David: "Really?! Do you like it?!" Max jumped back, David was being very... odd.
Max: "Uh... Y-Yeah... Its okay I guess." David busted into tears on the spot. "H-Hey! Why are you so emotional?"
David: "I'm just... so proud of this touching moment right now." Max scooted away a few inches from David holding the cup gingerly in his hands. "Welp! I'm off!" David said turning on his heel not before looking over his shoulder and saluting to Max then turning back towards the mess hall.
Max stood there confused and worried, everyone has been acting strangely lately. It couldn't possibly be his imagination, could it? Max looked down at the cup then dumping out the contents as if it were poison.
Max: "I'm not falling for your mind games." He tells to himself as he takes his own mug now filled with black coffee--walking towards the mess and opens the doors. His senses are overwhelmed by the scent of flowers and the sweet fragrance of honey. "WHAT. THE FUCK?!!"
Something was indeed very wrong.
