Say Something

Kellie's POV

I was doing my volunteer shift making sure that all of the kids in the ER were comfortable when I remember that when I say them rolling someone in a gurney.

I felt bad for the family before I realized it was my brother Chris!

"Chris, Chris, Chris is that you. Are you okay?" I said trying to run after the gurney.

I made it to the trauma room that they were bringing him. 

"Is he okay. What happened to him. Is he going to die" I shouted out to all of the people in the trauma room.

I must have caught the attention because he sent one of the nurses to come and get me.

"Sweetheart. You can't be in here right now" the nurse said

"Well, then what am I suppose to do instead!" I shouted at her

"Go sit in the waiting room, I'll give some information when we have some. Where are your parents' sweetheart?" she asked

She obviously was new because of everybody in the ER knew who I was because of the volunteer work and that I was up on Peds. That's when one of the nurses that knew me, Janet came over

"Christa- you can go back and help them. I'll take care of her" she said pushing her away.

That's when I just broke down. Wow the third time I've cried in one day, that's a new record. 

"What is he dies?" I sobbed into her. She just held me closer and sat me down behind the nurses' desk. "I'm going to call peds and get someone down here to wait with you. Okay, sweetheart?" she said. I was so zoned out of the only thing that I could muster out was a "yeah" and off she went to the phones. I was sitting there thinking about all of the different things that could have happened to my brother.

Before I knew Dash and Emma were grabbing my hands, and pulling me up out of the chair.

Dash POV

I was sitting in my room chilling with Emma, Dash, and Leo. I wanted Kellie to come with me but she had to work. So I decided to just relax. I was sitting in my room when Kenji came running in. 

"Something happened to Kellie's brother I need you to come two with me." he said pointing at me and Emma.

"What happened?" Emma asked moving out of the room

"He was in some kind of accident, and Kellie saw him being brought in. I guess she just broke down" he said as we got in the elevator.

We had arrived at the ER and I was the first person to find Kellie. She was sitting at the Nurses' stations and was curled into a ball. She looked so small and vulnerable. Something that I never wanted to see on someone that I loved. Emma and I walked over to her where we both pulled her up to where she was standing.

"Hey, babe. It's me Dash. I'm here mama" I said grabbing her hand

She didn't say anything she just hugged me tight and started crying. "I gotcha girl" I said."Hey, Emma, I think that you can go. I think that this is going to be the way this goes tonight. You don't need to be here for it." I said waving her away. "Okay just let me know how she is" Emma said and hugged Kellie from behind before leaving. 

"Hey take her into the waiting room. It's pretty quiet in there right now. Just let her sleep. I tell you when I know anything else" a nurse came up and told me.
