I stood there looking at my mate unsure what to say or how to explain my trying to run away. But no words came to me. I was lost within myself until he spoke.
" I'm Wyatt Walker son of the Alpha King. "
He says introducing himself. His voice was like music but that wasn't what made me weak in the knees. Having him look at me like I'm the only thing that matters in the entire world.
" Maddison Rosalie Clarke. "
I replied smiling awkwardly. It's been almost fifteen minutes and he didn't reject me, but I know he will once he knows everything. I wanted this, him I want a mate I never thought I would think of this and now that he's in my life I can't let him know the truth because if he does he will reject me and leave just like the others before him.
Frozen to the spot and lost in thoughts my dad walks past me and gives Wyatt a man hug
" Welcome to the family son."
After Dad man hugged Wyatt. Wyatt's eyes found me and he held out his hand silently asking me to take it. I shyly stepped forward and took his hand. My hand in his felt right, almost perfect. I followed after my very proud mate, who took me to meet his parents.
"Mom, Dad this is Maddison. She is the daughter of Alpha Clarke and she is also my mate and future Luna of Lunas."
Wyatt says proudly introducing me to his parents.
"It's nice to meet you Alpha King, Luna. "
I say in a shy but confident tone.
" Likewise. "
The Alpha King replies his tone cold and icy. Is it me or is there something I'm unaware of. I'm not sure but the rest of the night passed with Wyatt at my side. It was both a strange and wonderful feeling to have a mate. The feelings that came with Wyatt was different. I yawned involuntarily, I was feeling sleepy and I wished that the ball was coming to an end but it wasn't the Alpha Kings ball was an all-night affair.
" Tired? "
Wyatt asked and I nod I was very tired.
"Mother, Father ill be retiring for the night. My mate needs rest."
He says before leading me away and down a hall that led to an elevator. Once inside Wyatt pressed the button for the third floor of the mansion. When we got to the third floor I smiled it was beautiful and very masculine.
" Is this floor yours? "
I asked sleepily. He nods and then explains further.
" The third floor is for the royal family the Alpha King, his Luna and his son. And now it is also yours. "
He says completing what he said with a kiss on my forehead. Wyatt then took me to his room gave me some of his clothes and showed me where the shower is. After a long bath, I came out to find Wyatt standing by the window.
" Something more interesting than me out there Wyatt? "
I asked in a teasing tone. I found it easy to be around him. And that was something I never thought possible.
" No Sunshine, everything I need is right in this room with me. "
Wyatt says smiling.
" Good. "
I say returning the smile. Wyatt laughs a little and causal made his way to the bathroom. Half an hour later he comes out in nothing but sweat pants and his abs showing in all its glory.
" Don't you own a shirt. "
I teased, pretending to cover my eyes while still peeking. Wyatt quickly runs to me, picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.
" Where are we going?! "
I squealed.
" To bed. "
Was his quick reply as he carried me. Once in bed, he pulled me into his arms and it was right there that I fell asleep.

I slept all night in my mate's arms. sleeping in the arms of my mate felt right but nothing prepared me for what happened the next. I woke up to a fight between Wyatt and his father.
" I had your Luna handpicked and you went against my plans to find a mate. "
His father says with so much authority that I changed my mind from going outside, even though I wanted to interrupt I stayed put.
" Dad she is my mate my destined mate, she is not someone that you and mom had picked for me "
Wyatt says defending me.
I wanted so much to go outside and hug him. But it wasn't time yet.
" Destined mate or not she has to prove that she can be a leader. That she can handle both her duties as a Luna and mate. "
His father says without any room for an argument. Wyatt was about to answer when I stepped out of our room.
" I accept. "
I say as I stepped out. Heaven knows I didn't know the first thing about being a Luna but I help Dad over the years with running his pack and this should be easy.
Right.
Wyatt came to my side and hugged me and then kissed my forehead not caring about what his father said moments ago.
" You were eavesdropping? "
Wyatt's father demanded.
" I was not, you two weren't talking softly it was a shouting match between you two."
I say sternly deciding not to be afraid of him. When I thought my morning could get any worse the Alpha King's chosen Luna for his son walked in as if on cue.
" Good morning Alpha King. "
She says with a smile so fake it could be plastic. She then turned to Wyatt and came to hug him. And that's when I lost my cool.
" Hands off. "
I say shoving her off him. She then raised her hand to slap me. I waited for the slap but it never came because Wyatt caught her hand.
" How dare you try to hit my mate in front of me, Cora. "
Wyatt says, still gripping her hand. He then flings it to her side. Disbelief was written all over her face. She stumbled back a little and says.
" She's your mate? "
Wyatt nods confirming what she just asked.
"How! "
She squeals. Her eyes brim with unshed tears as she looks at us.
" I'm Luna. She can't be your mate."
She says her voice filled with rage.
