"God! David! " Ed chuckled. This guy doesn't seem like he's going to give up any time soon.

"Please.. please.. please.. Say yes please!!" He was begging so adorably Ed couldn't say no this time.

"Okay okay stop! Alright... just this one time okay?!" Ed finally agreed.

"One is all I need baby...." With a flirtatious smile David got up and headed towards his friends with his hands up in the air imitating a fighter who just won the battle.

David Legrand. One of the sexiest men in the town of Gutwauk. Both men and women drooling over him as if he's a piece of southern fried chicken. Ed didn't miss the glares filled with envy ever since everyone got to know about David's interest in him. Others were excited for him. People were complaining that he was playing hard to get. But Ed knew better. He could not for the life of him understand why he sees the man indifferent from all the others. He was just another guy for him. Well... a hot one. It's not that he was uncomfortable around him. But more like, he couldn't feel the feel of spring inside his heart, he could not feel that swirl of emotions that he believed anyone would get from meeting THE ONE.

"Well... Maybe they are all in my head." Ed secretly told himself.

"Hey, Handsome!" He turned around with the writing pad still in his hand knowing fully well whom that voice belonged to.

"Hey K!" Ed greeted. "My shift is almost over." His voice, tired. "I wanna open my own restaurant one day you know. I'm not a waiter Kathy. I am a cook. That's what I wanna do."

"I know baby. I know. Trust me I do. You are way better of a cook than everyone else in Gutwauk. No offense to Georgie." Kathy said, looking in the direction of Georgie cooking. The heavy tall man with the long beard was tossing something in the flaming pan while cussing at the young man next to him. Well.. being a chef can be a little stressful sometimes. But kathy didn't miss the look on Ed's face. It was screaming his passion towards cooking. And Kathy believed in him too. The man was born for it. Only if they had enough money for a restaurant of their own.
"Hey. Listen. We have to hang in there for a little while okay? We only need a little bit more money. So we have to keep working hard. So go. You're shift isn't over yet." Kathy smacked his shoulder.

"Aw! That hurt. Jeez what are you? How come you have so much power in those cute little arms?!" Ed growled. Touching the shoulder as if trying to smooth the pain and turned to go towards the people waiting in the front tables. Oh! Great! The Ivahosts again. Damn it. He hoped they won't take like 45 mins just to decide on the food. Like they always do.
"I gotta go." And just as he was about to leave Kathy grabbed him by the arm.

"Wait. Wait. Wait. So... I saw David, talking to you." Kathy asked, raising her eye brows in such a manner Ed could actually feel his cheeks turning red.

"Uhhhh... yeah. We are going out tonight, after my shift. " Ed uttered quietly.

"YOU!!! WHAT?????!!!!! Oh. My. God. Are you for real?" Kathy started shrieking so loud the almost everyone turned to look at them.

"Kathy!!!! STOP IT. You're embarrassing me. Oh god." Ed said covering his face with both his hands. "Now, I'm starting to regret saying yes to him. Why did I listen to you in the first place?? You're crazy. Why did I think it was a good idea to take an advice from someone as crazy as you?"

"Oh don't you worry Ed! You'll thank me the next morning. With what we've heard, we do know that Legrand doesn't fail to meet the expectations of his name huh?" Kathy winked. She couldn't hide that dirty excitement from her voice.

And Ed being Ed took a little more than a five seconds to get the underlined joke. And when it hit him, "Wait, WHAT?! YOU!!" He exclaimed. Then lowered his voice down. "IT IS JUST A DATE!!!!! One date! That's it. Kathy, you dirty ass!"
