Shot in the Dark

Chapter Four

I walked down the hallway of the arena. It's been a few weeks since the Wyatt boy's attacked my dad and I. We've recovered pretty well,and The Shield boys and I have become really close. Jon has been acting really weird. I met up with AJ,as she rounded the corner. "There you are!" She grabbed my arm. "What's up?" "Word is,Jon is going to throw some huge party tonight. You in?" She smirked. "I don't know,A." I sighed. "You're totally going!" She smiled. "Ugh,fine. But I'm NOT dressing up all crazy." "Fine." She rolled her eyes,smirking. She walked away from me,knowing she had just won. I walked into the dressing room,grabbing my bags. I got into my rental car,sighing. I knew I'd have to put a valid effort into tonight,or I'd never hear the end of it from AJ,or Nikki. I walked into my hotel room,taking a deep breath. I showered,straightening my hair. I decided I would leave it down. I did my make up hoping it was enough. I wanted to go for something simple,but then I thought about AJ,Nikki,and Jon. I wanted to impress him. I threw on a pair of cowgirl boots,and a thigh high black dress. I threw my ID and my debit card in the case of my phone. I did one more mirror check,then walked out of my hotel room. 

I pulled up to the  venue,sighing as I got out. I looked around,seeing all of the Superstars and Diva's. I tried scanning the room for a familiar face that I liked. "Lex!" An already tipsy Nikki ran into me. "Hey Nik." I smiled. "You look amazing!" She kissed my cheek. "So do you!" I laughed. "You need a drink!" She smiled,grabbing my hand and pulling me back to the bar. "What can I get for you?" The sweet bartender asked me. "Give her your strongest drink,make it a double." AJ popped in and said. The bartender smiled,quickly making a drink. I grabbed it taking a deep breath,and smiling. I drank it all in one drink,slamming the glass down. "Another,please." "That's my girl!" Nikki smiled. I drank my drink down,and we all got some drinks to go. "Let's go find a place to sit." I yelled over the music. We walked to the back,and found an empty table.  I had finished another drink,and I was starting to feel good. "I've got to go pee!" I jumped up,turning around,bumping into someone. "I'm sorry!" "It's okay,darlin'." It was Jon. "I've just got to go to the bathroom." I sucked in my breath. His piercing blue eyes,stared right into mine. "Let me walk you." He smirked. Damn it,Jon. You and that damn smirk. "Okay." I whispered. He escorted me to the bathroom. I hurried in,hoping to sober up a bit. Jon met me at the door. I stumbled over his foot,but he caught me. "Thank you." I mumbled. "You're welcome,princess." He smirked. I smiled,biting my lip. I looked away,as I walked back to the girls. I took my seat,causing the girls to look at me. "May I join you ladies?" He asked. "Yes." "No." Nikki and I both said at the same time. "Please sit." Nikki slurred. Jon let out a little laugh,taking a seat next to me. I gave her a huge glare. "Jon! There you are,man!" Colby and Joe smiled coming up to him. "What's up?" 

"Oh nothing. Just seeing where you went." Joe winked. "I'm fine boys. Now unless you want to join us." I saw Nikki and AJ eyeing them. "Please,sit!" I slurred. The girls gave me a look,causing Jon to laugh. "I need another drink." I said,finishing mine. "I'll order us a round." He smiled. "Jon is totally into you!" AJ smiled. "He just sat next to me. He's just being nice." I slurred. "I think he likes you." Nikki agreed. "But I also heard that he only wants one thing from you. He think's you're easy." I instantly saw red. "Well I don't know,let's ask his best friends." We all turned to them. "We know nothing." "Come on Colby,you're telling me you know nothing?" AJ said seductively. "N-no." He stuttered. "Oh,April! Don't be mean to the poor guy." We laughed. "Joe?" "He think's you're cute. That's all I know." Jon came back with a bartender behind him with a tray full of drinks and shots. "Drink up." He smirked. After a few more rounds,I was feeling really good. "Oh my god,I love this song! Let's go dance." I smiled at Jon. He got up,leading me out on the dance floor. I slung my arms around his neck,slowly dancing with him, "Are you glad you came out tonight?" He asked. "Yes I am." I smiled. "I'm glad you made it." He smiled. He held me tighter,as he wrapped his arms around my lower waist,resting them on my butt. He stared in my eyes,and I don't know if it was my confidence,or the alcohol,but I tried to kiss him. He turned away from me,causing me to pull away. He held me close until the song was over,and then he walked me back over to the table sitting me down. I drank the rest of my drink,and sat back in my chair. "Are you hungry?" Jon asked me. I shook my head no. I didn't want to speak to him. He got up,walking over to the bar. He'd been over there a while. AJ,and Colby were too into each other to notice me,and so were Joe and Nikki. He walked back over with a platter of food. He set it down,putting some on a plate in front of me. I picked at it for a while,eating some more. I didn't feel drunk at all anymore. "I'm tired,I'm going back to the hotel." I stood up. "Don't go! It's early." AJ whined. "I'm sure Colby will keep you company." I smirked,walking away. I sighed as I walked out of the venue,the cold air hit my face. I breathed in sharply,crossing my arms. "You don't have to walk." I heard a voice say. "I'm fine,Jon." I said harshly. "Why are you mad?" "I'm not someone who is just some whore. I'm not a one night stand,Jon. And I'm not fucking easy,either!" I yelled,walking off. I walked all the way back to the hotel,and walked up to my room. I went to go grabbed my key card,and realized I left it in my room. "Fuck!" I groaned,leaning my head back. All I wanted to do was sleep. "Lost your room key?" I jumped,turning around. I saw Jon standing a few door ways behind me. "I'm fine. I'll figure it out." I sighed. "You can stay here tonight. We can talk." He suggested. "I really just want to go to sleep,okay? I'm exhausted." I sighed,close to tears. He grabbed me,pulling me into his room. "Here are some shorts and a t shirt. Go take a shower." I walked into his bathroom,quickly showering. I put the clothes on that Jon let me borrow,gathering up my things,putting them neatly on the floor until morning. "Thank you,Jon." I mumbled. "You're welcome." There was a long pause. I was just about to speak,when Jon spoke up. "I don't think any of that about you,by the way. And I wouldn't kiss you because you were drunk. I wasn't about to do that while you've been drinking. I think a lot about you. But never have I ever thought that you were easy or just a quick lay." He said sternly. 

I looked down,not knowing what to say.
