Take the elevator to the seventh floor, go down the hall to the right and through the double doors passed the bathroom. Hall, then right, then double doors, bathroom. I need to remember to thank her. Her name was Jane right. She's at the front desk so it shouldn't be hard to remember or ask later if I have to. Why did my alarms not go off? I swear my phone hates me. The first day on the job and I'm late for the meeting. Way to go Karen.
Hi, my name is Karen, Karen Backer. I'm the new account- no that sounds dumb. Hi, I'm- where are these doors. I'm so late. I'm so late. Ok calm down Karen, It's not like you're working for one of the most up and coming companies, spent six months just doing background checks to get hired, and are late for a meeting in with the entire accounting floor. Oh lord save my soul. Ok found the doors, let's go. Ow ow ow ok that's Bob the fern that makes sense now. Wait Wow
The last time I had been in the office the blinds were pulled and I was far too nervous to take a good look at everything. When the windows are open to let in light in the whole place. It had such a different feel to it. The view was beautiful. The sun shined on the freshly clean grey carpet and black leather armchairs in such a way to make the whole place feel warm. You could see the few larger buildings gleam as the light hid what was going on inside. The design to the office reminded me of the warmth you would feel in your grandmother's home.
Oh right, the meeting. Stop daydreaming and go Karen. The conference room had glass walls that you could to see into. There was a kitchen the was just adjacent to it with a full double door fridge and granite island in the center. How do they keep this place so clean all the time? The blinds in the conference room were down so I can sneak in and hope no one notices me coming in. Please don't notice me. Please don't notice me.
"Remember to have your files in on Wednesday we need to get ready for- AH speak of the devil. Everyone this is Karen, She will be joining our lovely team starting today." The man in the tailor-made suit speaking with a never-ending smile was Jason Todd. He is what you would call mister charming without the sad tragic backstory. He interviewed me for the last three months. He was really nice to me in every one of our meetings. It was nice I guess. I just don't understand his personality when it comes to accounting. I've only been working as an accountant for 5 years but most of the managers I had weren't this chipper. From what I've read, No one knows why he has his position. Everyone is already seated around the standard high-end office meeting room that you see on TV shows. Even with the chairs that look like they cost more than your last paycheck. I've only tried them out these kinds of chairs once before and to be honest there has to be some sort of magic at play to make them look so uncomfortable and then be the exact opposite. "Now then you came at just the right time. I wouldn't want you to miss a chance to see the founder, well at least this week that is. Greg is the call ready to go."
"Yes, we should be on in 3...2..1.." Greg was dressed differently than everyone else more relaxed. I guess he's the IT guy. I wonder what else he does other than set up calls for one of the strangest women in business according to several new channels.
"Hello, I can never tell if I'm doing this right. In all of my years, working with computers and chatting up the IT department I still not good at setting up these calls." Our founder, the woman who refused to be on Time magazine simply because she hadn't read enough about it, is Jasmine Chambers. She had a bright soft smile and look like she was never fifteen minutes late for anything. When they said she looked young they weren't kidding. She's in her late 20's but if you looked hard enough she looked like she stopped aging in high school. "This is a very special meeting today. Today we welcome to our company three new members. There have been a lot of changes over the last year hence the video call," wait did she use to come here in person? "The company has been growing rapidly and I would like to thank you for all of your hard work and communication through all of the changes. It makes my job all the easier-"
