The next morning was awfully strange. First off, it was dead silent. No one else was awake, except Tord, of course. He went through the hallway and into the living room, still no one. He got a bit scared, but decided to wait until everyone else woke up. After a while, Matt came down the stairs.

"Hey Todd!" Tord jumped a bit, since it was so quiet.

"Oh hey, Matt. Where are the others?"

"Still asleep! How long have you been up?"

"Since a few minutes ago, not that long. I got worried because everyone is usually up before me."

Matt sat down next to him on the couch, hands on his knees.

"I know you've been concerned with the case of Nikki Scars. I've overheard you and Edd talk about it sometimes."

"Yeah. She's committing another muder tomorrow. Tracing all of her previous murder sites, it's near our house."

"Yikes... What are you gonna do about it?"

Tord stayed silent for awhile. He was deep in thought when Edd descended from the stairs.

"Hey guys! What're you talking about?"

"Hey Edd! Tord worried about the Nikki case."

"Of course he is. Lemme talk to him."

Matt nodded and moved into the kitchen, and Edd sat next to Tord.

"So... you found out the next killing site..."

"Yeah. I heard from internet sources that she's gotten more people to willingly join her cult. I also found out she has a website of her own now."

"Oh man. You really do your research, don't you?"

"It's kind of easy nowadays, actually. She's all over the internet in our town. Just search 'Nikki Scars cult' and you'll get millions of results in under a second. Fan websites, wikis, records of her victims' murders. She's everywhere!"

"I think you need to take your mind off of this. These murders are the one and only case you've ever worked on for the past five years! I think you need a small break. You deserve one."

"Yeah, I think you're right. I have been working on this for five years. It's just, how can she stay so relevant after all this time?"

Edd got up from the couch, "Well, she keeps doing what she's doing. She doesn't even let people rest for a week before she strikes again."

"Yeah, commits a muder every Thursday. It's like her own, twisted schedule."

"Anyway, have you heard from Tom by any chance?"

"In fact, no. I've gotten up before you all and haven't seeoH MY GOD-"

Tord quickly got up and ran to the front door, grabbing a coat in the process.

"What is it?!"

"I think something's wrong, VERY wrong. I have to find Tom before he gets in trouble. I swear, he's such a dumbass sometimes! Even after I told him to be careful going out alone!"

Tord rushed out the door and ran around town. Least to say is that he couldn't find Tom anywhere. He finally saw him through the store window and rushed inside.

"Thomas!"

He put his hand on his shoulder and turned him around. It wasn't Tom, but Jon.

"W-Wha- Oh! I'm sorry! I thought you were someone else! B-Bye!"

Tord rushed out of the store and kept searching. Oh god... he's probably dead now! I swear to god, Thomas!

"There you are, dear Thomas! How are you today?" NIKS asked, with a fake smile.

"I'm uh.. I'm good, I guess. Anyway, what do you want with me?"

"Ohoho! It's not what I want with you! It's about what you want, Tommy." Her smile slowly turned sinister as she approached Tom. Tom got a tad nervous and started stepping back, but not before NIKS put an arm on his shoulder.

"You remember me, don't you? It's been so long, hasn't it?"

"Yeah, I remember. Middle school, right?"

"Mm-hm! You're smarter than I remember, too!"

NIKS laughed like crazy whilst Tom chuckled nervously. NIKS let go of Tom's shoulder and cleared her throat.

"Anyway, there is something I want, don't get me wrong. But I know you want something, too."

"What could you possibly mean by that?"

"Allow me to explain. What's the one thing you've wanted more than anything? Something that has been missing from your life ever since you were little?"

"My sanity?"

NIKS laughed. "No! I think you know where I'm headed, Thomas."

Tom shook his head and NIKS sighed in defeat.

"I'm gonna bring your father back."

"What? But that's impossible! How could you do something like that?"

"Oh nothing, I just bring in a sacrifice of my own blood and a vessel for which your father's soul could be reincarnated, but of course if you don't want that, I could always just k-"

"Alright alright. So, you're gonna bring my dad back?"

"Yes!"

"But what do you want?"

"Nothing much. I just want you to join my cult!"

Of course, "Why?"

"Because, I can see that you're worthy, Tommy. You're worthy of joining me and my followers! I can save you. We an save you. Nothing else can ever bring the eternal joy of salvation from Billy and Braeden! Our gods! Our Lords!"

Tom stayed silent, looking at NIKS as if she were a mad woman. Which she was. Tom took a few moments to think about this decision, what he was going to say.

"Alright. I'll join you, but only if you can bring my dad back."

"Of course! It's a guarantee!" NIKS put her hands together, smiling.

"I'm counting on you."
