Zeldris, the last child of the demon king, was ordered by his father to get rid of (name), a goddess-demon hybrid that started an unintentional cold war between the goddess race and the demon race. The demon king, tired of her ignorance for thinking she could be a neutral party for the two, decided to not only curse her with a slowly growing darkness, but send his youngest to exterminate her.
You had been hiding out in a small human village that was very much harmless, but the executioner found you with no problem at all. He kicked down your front door and as soon as you heard him from upstairs, you quickly looked around frantically for some kind of weapon.
Fighting him was something you didn't want to do, but if you had to...
"I know you're up there," his deep voice told you from the bottom level. His feet went up each step then eventually to the top level that only showcased a bedroom and a bathroom.
He grabbed the sword from his side and broke the door with a single motion of his blade. As soon as he entered the room, you pounced on him and held your foot at his neck on the floor while your hand grabbed his knife and held it towards his chest.
Zeldris ceases all motion when he simply looked at your face, thinking it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.
You snapped your fingers in his face to get his attention. "Hey!" He snapped out of his thoughts and made direct contact with your big (eye color) eyes. "Don't make me hurt you," you warned him.
"You hurt me," he asked with a slightly teasing voice. "I doubt that completely." He said this because of how small in stature and petite you were.
You puffed out your cheeks and frowned, "answer me!"
He honestly told you, "I came here to kill you."
"You're not succeeding."
"By choice." He easily got up from your hold and held you under him, but you reverted back to your foot on his neck twice as fast. "You're quite the fighter."
"You have no idea."
He smirked and stopped resisting, leaving himself limp on your bedroom floor. You hesitantly removed your foot and sat down to catch a sigh of relief against the wall.
"Phew..." You ran a hand through your (hair color) hair and curiously asked, "why aren't you killing me?"
"I wish I knew myself."
His answer made you raise your eyebrow just slightly, but then shrug your shoulders. You decided to not ask any questions that didn't need to be asked. "Who are you?"
"A demon."
You deadpanned, "does this demon have a name?"
"Does this human have a name?"
"This human isn't even human," you laughed a little since he was to kill you and he didn't even know the most basic thing about you. He didn't know your race nor your name, so did he even find you? "But you still haven't answered my question, demon."
"I asked first."
"And I asked second," you said in a matter-of-factly tone.
Initially, he was trying to kill you, but now all he wanted to do was hear you talk and find out more about you. He already found out that you're very strong and little too trusting since you let him go after he simply stop resisting, but also a bit persistent since you asked him second. Also, can be feisty for someone so small.
Zeldris chuckled a little and breathed, "Zeldris of the demon clan, the demon king's executioner."
You couldn't help but widen your eyes. "You're here under command of the demon king?"
"Yeah."
Everything suddenly made sense to you, so you sighed and laid flat on the floor. "Now I understand."
As much as he wanted to ask what was going on, he decided not to since the two of you had just met. To add onto that, he felt like he was overstaying his welcome a little too much, so he got up and grabbed his sword, putting it back on his person to leave.
"Stay out of sight," he told you while leaving.
You grabbed his wrist before he left, but quickly let go with a flustered face. "I- uh... don't need your advice, but-"
"You know your face is as red as dragon blood, right?"
You yelled, "shut up!" The reddened only got worse, but you didn't understand why it did. He had the idea of why and definitely liked it.
"You're dead, by the way." He felt he had to remind of her that he 'killed' her.
"Why'd you spare me?"
He changed the topic. "You still haven't told me your name."
"Let's exchange information then," you smirked teasingly at him. "Why did the demon king's ruthless executioner spare someone like me?"
He turned around completely to softly caress your face with his hand. "Because I'm pretty sure I've found what I didn't know was missing."
Your heart was pounding out of your chest.
He turned to leave again, but you quickly told him, "(name)! My name is... (name)."
You were pretty sure he was someone that didn't smile easily, so you were surprised when he gave you a smile that was sweet like honey and soft like dough.
And you felt that smile belonged to you, and only you.
