I am lost

Like an abandoned boat
sailing across the ocean,
Waiting to reach land leading to nothing
but sand and loneliness.

Every wave
Shoving …smacking
Slowly breaking down the strength
of every little thing that makes a boat useful.

The wind,
Strong and powerful
Pushing the one and only boat in the ocean
in every direction.
Making the boat rock back and forth;
Like a baby swing, constantly rocking a baby to sleep.

I am lost

Like a young child
that lost their mom and brother in a store
Searching the whole place for them.
Running up and down every isle
in hopes of finding them.

Coming so close to breaking down
from fear and hopelessness
Until…

“Ethan, get back here!”

Peaking around the corner,
The young child sees his twin brother running
in the opposite direction from their mom.

Laughing like a jolly child,
the young boy catches his brothers eye.
Pausing mid-laugh,
he stops dead in his tracks
before yelling out,

“Grayson!”

His brother runs towards him
with arms wide open,
before squishing him in a hug.

He embraces his warmth,
melting in his arms as he thinks to himself,

I am found.
