Misty's POV:
"Misty, it's time to get up for school. Hurry up or you're going to be late. You have 45 minutes to get dressed and eat." Maria yelled. I got out from under my covers and groaned. It was cold in my bedroom. I stood up and looked back at my bed. It looked so inviting that it took all my willpower not to go back under my warm covers. I forced myself to walk to the bathroom to get ready. I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and then took a shower. I dried myself off and wrapped my towel around my body.
I walked to my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. It was my first day of senior year at Shallow Cove High and I needed to put some effort into my appearance. I decided to grab my matching grey bra and panty set. I grabbed a black tank top and a navy blue plaid shirt. I paired it with faded blue ripped jeans and a pair of black converse. Once I got dressed, I went to work on my hair and makeup. I blow dried my hair and straightened it. My blonde hair went down to my hips. I put on a bit of makeup which consisted of foundation, eyeliner, and some light grey eyeshadow to make my crystal blue eyes pop out. I finished off with my mascara as I heard Maria yell at me again.
"Misty, you better hurry up. You have 15 minutes until you have to leave if you want to make it to school on time." Maria sighed. I walked out of my room with my backpack and binder and walked downstairs into the kitchen. I saw Maria making two plates of food. She looked at me and smiled.
"Finally. I thought I would have had to go up there and drag you out of bed." Maria chuckled. I giggled as I sat down at the island. There was a plate of bacon, eggs, and sausage. It was too much for me to eat.
"Maria, do you expect me to eat all of this? It's too much." I looked at her with my eyebrow drawn up. Maria looked at my plate. She didn't say anything as she pushed my plate closer to me. She sat on the other side and began eating from her plate.
"It's your first day of school. You need to have a big breakfast to wake up your brain or how else are you going to learn anything? I expect that plate to be cleaned off in ten minutes." Maria stated. I looked down again and my stomach growled. Maria chuckled, "Looks like your stomach agrees with me. Now eat up."
I managed to eat my whole plate and I felt like a balloon ready to pop. I looked at the time and saw that I had 5 minutes to get to school. I didn't have to worry about being late as it is only 7:25AM but Maria wanted me at the school half and hour before it started. "I better get going Maria so I'm not late. Thanks for breakfast. It was really good." I grabbed my bag from beside the door and grabbed my keys out of the front pocket. I walked to my Audi A7. It is my baby since it was a gift from my parents. That is a story I don't want to remember right now. I pushed the thoughts of my parents away as I drove to school.
I parked my car and walked to the front of school. This will be my hell for one year. Let's hope it goes okay. I see my friend Amber walking towards me. She did not look happy today. "Hey Amber. What's up? What happened?" She looked at me and nudged her head towards the doors. I looked and saw 4 really cute boys standing there. I looked back at Amber. "What did they do? Do I need to go beat them up? I have your back. All you have to do is say the word."
"Okay there tiger. Settle down. Don't cause a scene on the first day. Nothing is going on. I just wanted you to see the new guys, but promise me that you will stay away from them. Okay? I get a bad feeling about them?"
"What do you mean? What bad feeling? Did they do something to make you say this?"
"No." She sighs, "I just don't like them. I'll tell you when you're ready."
"When I'm ready? What does that mean?" I shouted.
"Can we just drop it. Let's go get our schedules. That way, we can find our lockers and our first class without being late." Amber mumbled. I dropped the subject seeing as I wasn't going to get any answers. We both headed to the office and grabbed our schedules. "What is your locker number?"
"457."
"Omg. Our lockers are beside each other. I'm 456. Let's go and find them." After walking around for 5 minutes, we finally found them. I opened my locker and found a letter. "What's that?" Amy asked.
"I don't know. It was in there when I opened it." I looked at the front and my name was on it. "How did this person know where my locker was?" I looked at Amber and I stood there shocked. She was looking at me, but at the same time, she wasn't. I waved my hand in her face as I was calling her name. "Amber? Amber! AMBER!!!!" She shook her head and looked at me.
"Sorry, what did you say? I spaced out." Amber looked scared, almost like she was hiding something from me. "Anyways, hurry up so we can look at our schedules. I pulled out my schedule and looked at my classes.
First Period: Math- Mr. Hansen
Second Period: Science- Mrs. Smith
Third Period: Art- Ms. Aly
Lunch
Fourth Period: Biology- Mr. Daniel
Fifth Period: Chemistry- Mr. Leon
Sixth Period: English- Mr. Armstrong
I looked at Amber's schedule. We had math, science, biology, and English together. We both headed towards the math class. I looked around and saw the 4 boys from earlier just staring at me. What is their problem? I ignored their stares and walked in after Amber. We both decided to sit together at the back. I am sitting right against the wall and Amber is sitting to my left. Amber is texting someone on her phone, so I decide to grab everything for this class. I grabbed a notebook, pencil, eraser, and a calculator. After that was done, I looked at the clock. 5 minutes until the bell rang. People started filing in and filling up the desks. The only available seats were in front of us and beside us. I never expected for them to come in.
A/N: This is my first book writing on here. I hated math so I won't be going into detail with the classes unless something happens in that class. I don't want to make the book boring by putting lessons into here a lot. I graduated so I am done with school for now. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. Please leave comments on how to make the book better but please be nice. I hate it when people put rude comments in books. So to quote Thumper from Bambi, "If ya can't say nuffin' nice, ya shouldn't say nuffin' at all."
