Kokichi couldn't stop thinking about Melody. Is she ok? Does she need somewhere else to stay? Of course he couldn't let her stay, his parents would hurt him more than anything. It'll be a massive risk. A risk Kokichi wasn't willing to take.
Kokichi: Do you want to meet at the park at 10:00 tomorrow?
Melody: Don't you have school?
Kokichi: My parents will not let me go to school. They think it will be waste so I get homeschooled. Well. I go round to the teachers house but they cannot teach me at the moment. I'm free until they are willing to teach me and my guess is never.
Melody: Oh. I go to school but only half days. 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Kokichi: I'll walk you.
Melody: Thank you. I'm always lonely.

Kokichi sighed. Why did his life have to suck? He wasn't even allowed meals if he did the slightest thing wrong, like spell a word incorrectly. His room was nothing but a mattress on the floor. Not even a pillow or duvet. What did I do to deserve this? Kokichi grabbed his hair and pulled it with all his might. Eventually, short strands of dark purple hair fell out and a tear fell down Kokichi's cheek. Life was awful, but at least he was not suffering alone. Then a thought came into his mind. What if I recorded the next time they hit me? And then show it to the police? But I don't want to leave Melody alone. That's not enough. Kokichi kept thinking. Wait! How about we run away! Only to the next town, there must be a shelter there for us to stay in.

Kokichi immediately texted Melody about his idea, the response was quick to come. A very short 'yes, I would do that, when are we leaving?'
Kokichi thought and organised a date and time where they would meet. 1:00am tomorrow at the park. He sent that to Melody. She agreed and said she is packing now. Kokichi grabbed what little money he had, and he needed more, lots of it. Luckily his parents were out so he took both of the credit cards with the most amount of money on. Then in a handwriting even his parents couldn't recognise, he scribbled a note saying that 'I am a thief, you stupidly left your wallet and purse in an area in which I could reach it.' Then he grabbed everything else, food and water and clothes packed and left his house.

He slept in the park and waited for Melody. At 12:30am she arrived.
"It was really hard to get away. They didn't suspect a thing." She panted.
"Nishishi~ I stole everything, their most prized possessions." Kokichi laughed.

After catching the train, they decided to go a little further, arriving in the next big city along. After locating a shelter, they were allocated the same room because of the fact it was full up.

They had escaped. But this isn't the end of the story yet.
