Reagan dreamt of home. She stared out over the grassy fields dotted with cattle, puffy white clouds floating lazily in the blue sky and the sun shining. She let out a sigh at the sight before turning and saw Solas looking around curiously.
"This can't be a good sign if I am dreaming of you two nights in a row," she grumbled to herself and heard his soft chuckle.
"You have dreamt of me before then?" he queried enjoying her surprised expression.
"Of course I have, your handsome, smart, polite... all those things that a woman can appreciate. Now go away before tonight becomes awkward for me," she told him.
Solas suddenly appreciated how she knew nothing of the Fade and believed that he was but a dream. I should not tease her, yet I cannot stop myself, he thought, allowing his gaze to follow her slow walk towards him.
"I was not aware you found me attractive," he replied folding his arms behind his back, quite pleased with the idea.
Reagan stared at him for a moment and laughed.
"There is a lot you're not aware of bucko, now shoo. I will not have you taking this dream where it went last time."
Solas' eyebrow went up in surprise with her reply and now very curious about what her dream had held, he stepped closer.
"And where did – this dream go last time," he replied smoothly.
Reagan blushed and shook her head.
"Oh, no you don't snake charmer. You're slipperier than a fish, and you got a lot further than I ever let another get. Now go away, this dream will not be going that way tonight, I have to look at you later."
Solas laughed, for the first time in a long time. Actually laughed fully and freely, shaking his head. He found himself for the first time jealous of a dream version of himself.
"Perhaps I should apologize for the deception and explain," he said and saw her face register confusion.
"I am what they call a fade mage, Reagan. I can manipulate the energy of dreams and the Fade. That is where we are, the Fade. This is your memory and I am not a dream, I am a reality here, just as you are," he told her.
Reagan stared at him for a long moment and her face heated with embarrassment. Well, how the hell did I get here?
"This isn't a dream but the Fade?" she squeaked out.
Solas held her gaze and nodded.
"Then... you are actually here, you're telling me this is - not a dream?" She repeated stupidly.
He smiled at her and nodded again, and Reagan covered her face. Oh my God... I just told him...
"Now perhaps you will tell me about this other dream you had," he began and Reagan gave him a heated stare through her fingers, groaning with her embarrassment.
"If you don't know then at least that was just a dream and I'm not gonna tell you what happened, so chew on that."
Solas laughed and shook his head enjoying the red of her cheeks.
"Was it truly so bad that you cannot share it with me?" he questioned.
Reagan finally pulled her hands away from her face and squared her shoulders with determination.
"No, it was that good. Now stop pestering me about that dream. What are you doing here?"
Solas chuckled at how quickly she turned the question around and let it drop... for now.
