"Bobby, how come I don't have a mommy?" I questioned with tears in my eyes. The older man sat down and patted his lap, waiting for me to hop on.

"Ava girl, you did have a mommy. I can promise you that much is for sure." He replied sturnly but offered some comfort. My face fell at the news. "She just had to go away for awhile."

"Did I make her mad?" I inquired, my voice breaking. I didn't mean to, whatever I did. If she just came back I would tell her I'm sorry.

"Oh, hunny no, you didn't do anything wrong. I swear you did nothing to make her leave. She just needed to go on a hunt and it's taking a little longer than expected." He hugged me tight and I sniffled, hating that I had cried over something Missy Fitgerald had said.

"Thanks Bobby, I'm glad she left me with you and not some numskull like Mr. Winchester." I dried my tears and hopped off his lap. "How about some musheroni for dinner?"

"Mmm," he grinned, "my favourite." Just then he answered his phone. He was quiet for awhile before I heard him say, "Oh, you need a place for the boys to stay? No problem!" I hung my head in dissapointment, if Sam and Dean were coming over that meant I had to go to the Roadhouse.

"I'll go get my clothes," I mumbled and walked away. I heard him sigh and call someone else before I shut my door and gathered my things.

~Present Day~

Dean aimed the Colt at Yellow Eyes, staring him in the face. He pulled the trigger and saw his dad flash to his side and whisper six words. "Find Ava, Dean, keep her safe." All he could think is, what? What the hell was he goin on about?

Dean hadn't realized before but they had all formed a small circle. "You boys better be ready, there's a war coming." Dean nodded silently and walked back to his car. He was vaguely aware of Sam walking behind him absolutely silent.

They all decided to crash at Bobby's for awhile, though it was an incredibly tight squeeze. Late that night Sam was woken by the sounds of voices. "...Ava alive?" Bobby asked worried.

"Little minx... Left two days ago... Not a clue." He only got bits and pieces.

"But she... There, right? When... Right?" He questioned. There was a pause and he sighed in relief. After that Sam fell asleep again. That night he slept like the dead.
