Weddings. The one word that gives me so much joy. Right now, I'm dressing up for yet another wedding. My name is Maya, I'm 20 and I live in California. I absolutely love weddings. My friend Anna is getting married today and I promised to make her wedding the most memorable night of her life. Ever since I was eight, I found my purpose in life. I always wanted to be that one person that makes the event unforgettable and that was when I fell in love with weddings.
So here I am, wearing a poofy, purple dress and heading over to meet up with the bride- to-be, along with my best friend, Natalie. She's like my partner in crime, always being there for me, always being the most sarcastic and funniest person I know.
"Oh thank god you're here!" Anna said as she gave me and Natalie a big hug before she changed into her dress. Five minutes later, and she was out the room ready for pictures as the photographer asked the bridesmaids to gather around the bride.
"Excuse me, you on the right! Pay attention to the camera and stop making faces like you're five and not interested." The photographer snapped at Natalie as I lightly nudged her to stand tall and look pretty for the picture.
I looked at my watch, nervously panting. Shit, I really need to get to Emma's wedding. I promised her I would be there.
As the priest said her words, I backed away slowly, hoping no one would notice, and I left the church. I looked around until I finally saw a taxi. As I jumped in the backseat as fast as I could, the driver looked at me like I was crazy.
"Okay, I'll give you an extra tip if you don't pay attention to the rearview mirror. Deal?" I said, looking at him impatiently. He nodded and I couldn't wait any longer before I started to take my dress off completely and change into another one.
"Woah, what the hell are you doing?!" The taxi driver turned around and stared at me as my eyes grew wider.
"You said you wouldn't look! Relax, I'm just changing into another dress." I said casually, like it was no big deal I was changing into another bridesmaids dress with a man seated in front of me.
Luckily, neither of us said anything for the rest of the ride. Finally, I smiled as I recognized the place Emma was having her wedding.
"Stay here, you better not go anywhere!" I yelled to the driver as I quickly ran inside, looking for Emma.
"Look who decided to show up. I thought you weren't going to make it. Miss 'I love weddings'" I turned around and was met face to face with a familiar pair of brown eyes. Emma. I laughed softly. Emma always knows when to use to her sense of humor.
"Congrats, Em! I can't believe your big day is finally here." I smiled and gave her a big hug.
I said my hi's to everyone I knew. When the priest started talking, I took that as my cue to leave. I walked away as fast as I could without being noticed and ran back to the taxi, which was still there.
"Well don't just stand there! Get back in the car and drive! Hurry, go, go,go! I need to get back to the other wedding!" I told the driver as I got in the backseat and repeated the same process of changing my bridesmaid dress. Hopefully no one at Anna's wedding noticed I was gone.
As I changed into my clothes, I noticed the driver staring right at me. "Excuse me mister, but if you really want that extra tip, stop looking at me! I won't hesitate to leave without paying you." I glared at him as we finally reach the church.
"Stay here, you better not leave or you can forget about your money." I said to him as I ran back inside.
I looked around for Natalie and found her sitting at a table with ten other people. As I took the seat next to her, I noticed she looked so out of it. Either she was staring off into space or checking out a hot guy again. Typical Nat. I followed her gaze and noticed she was staring at two incredibly handsome men.
"Okay, which one do you want, the brunette or blonde? I prefer the blonde. He seems like he's more my type. I'm not gonna lie, he's pretty cute." Natalie said, as she took another sip of her drink.
"Please, Nat. Can't you just control your hormones for one wedding at least?" I rolled my eyes playfully and laughed.
"I can't help it! Besides, that's why this bridesmaids dress was designed this way. It was supposed to make it easier for the guy to rip off later." She grinned. Natalie is one special girl.
A/N: Ohmygosh. I'm so sorry this was complete crap but hey, it's great practice for when i write in the future. I'm trying really hard not to make this story completely the same as the movie bc it wouldn't be as interesting, but i'm having writer's block and can't really think of anything creative yet D: Anyways, i'll be needing major help with developing my story and adding changes to make it better. Please comment and vote it would mean alot to me :) If you have any suggestions let me know!
P.S. I'm kinda pretty sad that half of my update for this chapter got deleted somehow so I had to re-type it and I honestly don't remember what I put the first time. Hopefully it wasn't complete shit LOL.
Also, for those of you who are here for the amazing and frantastic (see what i did there?) Harry Styles, he will be coming into the story soon. Don't forget to leave comments! I'd like to receive feedback and know what you think. Thanks, love you all xx
