I can feel you slipping away:a possum hissing and scratching, eyes red with rage/ a raccoon caught amidst the night eyes reflecting my own fright

I can feel you slipping away:
a possum hissing and scratching, eyes red with rage/ a raccoon caught amidst the night eyes reflecting my own fright

I can feel you slipping away:
the sand within my palms soaking into my skin, I become sandpaper the erosion to your bane/
the dusting of dirt a subtle tan caught within sprouts of life, she the crusting of Gia

I can feel you:
blades of jade and the embers against black tar your skin an excruciating reminder of what I once held/ cotton sheets, breezes against raging night and silk encasing, soft caresses a sweet reminder.

One day, there will be a day, and that day is near. you will be long gone, a shadow and a memory, a tainted mark emblazoned with the markings of my love.
