Naomi was seen as a born-seductress. Her lightly brown complexion and generous curves were assets that attracted numerous boys and girls from all horizons.
But Naomi was picky. If she had learned something from experience, it was that one needed to choose their allies wisely and to surround oneself with good and interesting people. That's why she didn't let people come to her, she came to them. If she noticed someone of her taste, she would do everything not to let them slip through the net. Not the other way around.
She had always been a lone wolf, not the one to mingle and entertain fake friendships for the sakes of appearances. She believed in sincerity and if there was one thing she hated, it was to be lied to. Her strong values had generally caused her troubles in keeping friends and lovers around but with the crew they turned out to be norms to live by and to respect. Naomi was certain that her decence and honesty were the reason why her integration in the crew was so easy.
Naomi met Mia at a party that Claire had organized for her when she graduated high school. She had zero relation to the girls back then but her friend of the time was attending Mia's school and invited her to the party. Naomi wasn't really taken by the vibe of the place at first but the second she saw that crazy petite blonde dancing on top of the bar, she knew she would be hers.
What Naomi loved about Mia was her spirit. She was childish and uncontrolable majority of the time but when she managed to calm down, Mia became the sweetest and most attentive person Naomi had ever met. She was that type of cute sensitive girl that Naomi wanted to protect and preserve at all cost. Naomi had always found their relationship to be balanced and complementary in that way. Besides the strong sexual compatibility between them, Naomi was head over heels for her little muffin. And she knew that even though Mia was attached to her high-school sweetheart, she was in love with her in return. The trust they had in each other was unbreakable and if Naomi was sure of one thing in her life, it was that nothing could come between them.
The only regret Naomi had was the way she had handled Shaun's addition to the crew.
There was one rule the two girls had established. No secrets. Given Mia's situation with Lucas, they had agreed that it was fair if Naomi wanted to meet with boys on occasions. The only condition was that Mia knew about it. Until then, Naomi had respected her part of the deal and had always informed Mia about her whereabouts. But not for Shaun.
The difference with Shaun was that Naomi had sensed he was special. She knew he would make a good member for the crew but she preferred getting to know him independently before considering him for the group. She needed to make sure he was like them. She refused to introduce them to someone who would break the established rules or destroy their harmony. That's why she only consulted Claire before officially introducing Shaun to the crew.
But when she met Mia's eyes in the middle of the living room, she understood she had messed up in her attempt to do the right thing. It took her a while to rekindle their relationship but what saved them was communication. After almost two years of dating, they knew how to listen and talk to each other. They understood the other better than they understood themselves sometimes.
Although Naomi was leniant when it came to Shaun interacting with the rest of the crew, she drew a firm line with Mia. She tolerated them in the same room at times but touching her was out of bounds and the whole crew had approved of that rule even before Shaun's arrival. Even in case of a threesome, there was no touching Mia. This was reserved to Naomi and Lucas only, although Naomi enjoyed this privilege exclusively for Lucas didn't have the strongest attraction to women.
So far the harmony of the crew had been intact. Matters were discussed in group, everyone could express their opinion on them, and everyone was binding to follow those rules as they all knew it would disturb the right functioning of the crew if they were to be broken. Some exceptions were granted sometimes but always after being discussed collectively and approved by all. However, breaking a supreme rule was unacceptable and could provoke a true crisis among the crew.
