Chloe was born like any other...naked and afraid. The doctor held her and announced, "It's a boy!." Her mother, she wept, not tears of joy, but tears of deep agony and pain. For she had prayed for a girl every night till the baby was born.

She took the child once the tears subsided. Looked into its eyes, and made a decision. The child was hers to raise the way she wished, and if she wished it a girl, then so be it.

Chloe's earliest memories of her mother were around 7 years of age. Her mother was brushing her long blond hair, telling her how beautiful she was, and that she had her father's eyes, who was never present. All this taking place during breakfast, as she always had before taking her medicine.

From here her memories evolved. She began to take notice of herself. Her long hair, her small body, her slight curves. She had deep confidence in her looks, and never knew she wasn't what her mother told her.

Her teenage years arrived. Biologically, her body was supposed to change in ways she wouldn't understand, but for some reason...it never did. Of course, she started what she decided was her period. Her moods began to fluctuate. She began to get mood swings. She snapped at her loving mother, as well as breaking down and crying to her, as she was her closest friend and confidant. She began to notice others. She had her own romantic fantasies. She fell in love, but never chased her feelings. With this, her mother told her she was too young, but always loved when she told her stories.

When she was 18, She went on her first date. His name was Lewis. He was a tall brunette with the goofiest smile you could imagine. They went to the movies. It wasn't the greatest date, but she enjoyed it. The night approached and the movie ended. He took her home and tenderly kissed her on the doorstep. She shivered happily but didn't let it go any further. Then she went inside and told her mother everything. She was proud, but Chloe could tell there was a bit of worry in her voice. A few nights later, her mother came to her room with a sheet of paper, a copy of her birth certificate. She sat down and cried softly. Ultimately, she confessed. Chloe was born a male. Which, was something she already knew, but was always conflicted about. Her genitalia typically stayed tucked. She knew from biology she was different, however, she never reached male puberty. She never grew much hair on her body. Her voice never deepened. Her testes never truly dropped. Confused, angry, conflicted, she asked her mother to explain. She accused her of lying, but she cried and explained that the medicine Chloe had taken since she was young was actually estrogen and hormone blockers. Her body had taken to them and her biology changed. She was truly at a loss for words. Broken. Afraid. Who was she really?

For a while, she shut out the world. She sat in front of the mirror. She stared at her body. At her breasts. At her hips. At her hair. At all the things that made her beautiful. She was truly conflicted.

Her mother tried to console me. She tried to explain that she could be who she wanted to be...personally Chloe didn't believe her. She couldn't. She had lied to a her...her only child.

One day, Chloe escaped her room. She went to her mother. She told her she loved her, and that she was a woman, despite her genitalia. Despite what her birth certificate said. Despite what the world said.

She kept it a secret, however, she avoided any emotional connection. her mother always asked me why. She simply told her that she was afraid to tell them the truth. Her mother proposed a sex change. Chloe agreed though she was deathly afraid. They got a private doctor, explained the situation, they were taken back and almost refused the operation, as when they entered their office he saw two women, but was told otherwise...

After begging and pleading, they agreed and Chloe went into surgery a month later. The operation was successful. When she awoke, she was finally what she believed she was and always had been. She was finally what she truly was! She was finally a woman...

She was no longer afraid, yet her secret stayed. She refused to tell anyone. She was who she was, and nobody could change that...
