I'm so fucking glad to have my Camaro back. And all of the girls have left me alone at school. The deal was a win-win situation for me.I walk into school and see Billie standing alone at her locker, staring at her phone. I rush over and grab it out of her hands, kissing her cheek.
"Give it back you dickhead!" She shouts at me. "Just wanted to say that we're going to a party tonight."
She scoffs. "We?"
"Yup. Everybody will see. Plus the rival school will be there and I need my badass girlfriend by my side," I explains and she groans.
"Not everybody from that school is bad!" I shit I've riled her up. That's never good."Look give me your address and I'll meet you there at 8:00." She says.
"Why don't I pick you up?"
"Trust me. You don't want to." She interrupts me.
"Whatever. And don't act bitchy. We're supposed to be in love or some shit."
She knees me in the balls and kisses me quickly to cover it up."See you later then babe," Her voice is fake and high pitched. She walks away, making a show of moving her hips from side to side. Little does she know that every guy in this hallway is staring at her right now.
••••••••••••••••••••
I hear the doorbell ring and head downstairs to answer it but my mom beat me. She opens the door and freezes when she sees Billie.
"Umm Sam? There's a girl here!" She shouts me. Billie is standing nervously in the doorway. She wears ripped black jeans, a baggy grey hoodie and combat boots with small heels.I usher her in, much to my mother's surprise.
"Mom this is my girlfriend, Billie." I introduce her.
"I thought your girlfriend was Veronica?"
"Umm we broke up. A while ago."
My mother is silent for a minute before cheering loudly.
"Thank god! I fucking hated that girl!"
"Mom!" She being embarrassing. I know that I am bright red right now."She has a point though." Billie says which only makes my mom laugh more.
"She's pretty with a sense of humour! Where did you find her?" My mother asks sarcastically.
"We're going!" I grab Billies arm and lead her away."It was nice to meet you!" She shouts as we leave.
"You too!" My mother replies. We climb into the car and I speedily pull out of the driveway. It's already getting dark and we can hear the music from two blocks over.
She refuses my help out of the car but lets me hold her hand.
For some reason I don't think of her as my enemy much anymore. But not as my girlfriend either. She's doing something to me. We've known each other our whole lives but not like this. Like this we joke and talk and are constantly touching. It's weird. And I kind of like it for some reason.
The party is in full swing and my best friend Leo stumbles towards us.
"Ah Sam and his new girlfriend! Welcome!" He is shouting, a side effect of him not being sober.
"They're here." He tries to whisper in my ear and Billie turns to face me.
"Who's here Sam?" I groan and glare at Leo. "Umm... the Carden High football team and their girls?" I shrug and don't make eye contact. She drags me into an empty bedroom, ignoring the wolf whistled coming from my friends. She locks the door and pushes me onto the bed.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She whisper shouts at me.
"Umm maybe the team were planning on starting something with them?" I shrug and she slaps me across the face."It's no wonder I fucking hate you. You knew about this and didn't stop it."
"Why are you defending them? They're the enemy!"
"The enemy?" She spits. "We're just two school full of stupid teenagers who have good football teams. It's not war.""Calm down."
"Calm down? Calm down! Why don't you!" I roll my eyes as she shouts at me."Fine whatever. I'll tell them to back off!"
"Yes you will!" She whisper shouts.A girl in a ripped denim dress runs up to us and hugs Billie tightly.
"Oh my god how are you?" She squeals and Billie smiles. Like actually smiles.
"I'm great. I can't believe we've gone a whole week without seeing each other!"
"I'll call you alright. I have to go!" They clutch each other one last time.
"Bye!" They say before parting.I'm left open mouthed and confused. "What the hell was that?" I ask and she frowns.
"What do you mean?"
"I didn't know you had friends."
"Well I do so shut up."Suddenly everybody begins running around screaming, all pointing towards the front door which is wide open.
I grab her arm and pull her through the crowd and onto the lawn where more people are gathered.
Because parked outside of the house are the rival football team's cars. And they're covered in spray paint.
