~Sophie and Elena,
Robin's Point of View
"There's our little prefect! You are absolutely perfect." Regina Alesi rushed into the living room, an extra skip in her step, proudly calling for her youngest child. She wrapped her cold, thin, veiny arms around her daughter's shoulders and pecked Robin's cheek with her lips. "I do believe that's the entire family, not to mention both of your grandparents." A smug smile grabbed at the corners of her mouth.
"Is it really that surprising, mum?" Robin said aloofly, causing her older brother to put down his book and laugh at them.
"On the contrary, darling. You are my daughter, after all." She said maybe a little too comfortably.
"And if I wasn't," The Slytherin asked casually.
Robin's mother stayed silent for a moment, sliding into the seat next to her son. "Well,-"
"It's best not to wonder on the "if's" in life, my dear." Braeden, Robin's father, finished for his wife. Though the family laughed on, the question that was never given an answer to remained in Robin's head.
"In any manner, Orion and Walburga have invited us over for dinner tonight, to celebrate you and Regulus on your marvellous accomplishments." Robin's father announced, causing his wife to practically jump out of her seat.
"Oh, how wonderful!" The middle-aged woman beamed. "Everything's coming together beautifully. Soon Max will have graduated, married an appropriate young lady, --"
Max interrupted his mother's babbling- "Do I need remind you that I don't graduate until next summer?"
"All in due time, my beautiful boy." She said anyways, starting for the kitchen. Robin reached over and ruffled her brother's hair with a callous laugh causing him to yank her arm nearly out of it's socket.
Robin pretended to yelp and she held her arm close to her chest. "Don't kill your sister in the meantime, Maxwell." Their father said, furrowing his brows.
Robin looked at her brother and smirked, "Why Max couldn't hurt a fly."
Before Max could reach over and smack his sister, their father walked in between them intentionally and shuffled out of the room.
When both of their parents had left, and her brother's attention returned to his studying, Robin couldn't help but think about what had transpired the night before. All she could do was replay what had happened to Orla over and over again in her mind. The scene was like an old sad movie that was broken and stuck on replay.
It wasn't until minutes later when her brother caught her attention that Robin realized how miserable she probably looked.
"You should be happy."
Happy.
The word seemed foreign. Robin found herself spelling out the five-letter word in her mind for some odd-reason. She slid her tongue against her teeth and noted how the word bounced inside her mouth.
"The only thing you've been talking about this summer is becoming a prefect-" Max said, oblivious to his sister's behavior. "And that slimy sixth year, of course, Severin, Sevel-"
"Severus." The blonde interrupted, finding the name for her brother. A picture of the dark-haired boy appeared in Robin's mind and she had to bite back a smile. "It's great to know you still eavesdrop on me and Mabel." Mabel has been Robin's roommate since first year and is one of her closest friends, she spends most of the summer with the Alesi household, it seems, at least to Max.
