His hands wouldn't stop shaking.
It's as if they quivered with caffeine, but instead of the pure drug that he would run on, it was fear. A pounding fear that only came in waves, lurching up into his throat to break free as a sob, only to stop behind his lips.
Hoseok didn't know what to do, as he sat in his bedroom room staring at the crime scene unfold on the television. A red 'BREAKING NEWS' banner had flashed in the upper right corner while the background voice of a woman reported the details of the scene.
"stated there had been two fatalities and six with major injuries. Those individuals are being taken to the hospital where they"
He couldn't even hear the news woman with how loud his heart thumped in his ears, releasing quiet trembling breaths as he focused on the police men currently at a standoff with the gunman, and the innocent victim clenched in his death grip.

"Can we not have broccoli tonight?"
Hoseok chuckled as he watched Taehyung pout with his cheeks leaning on his hands, whining about how vegetables were disgusting. Of course that didn't stop Hoseok from dishing a healthy portion of vegetables onto the Mickey Mouse shaped plate.
"You know if your Daddy was here, he wouldn't tolerate your whining, right?" Hoseok raised an eyebrow, dishing some ravioli onto the plate before setting it down onto the table infront of the pouting child, "Now what do you want? Apple juice or Chocolate milk?"
It was like the sun had come from behind the clouds with the way Taehyung's eyes had lit up, his lips no longer forming a pout as they gasped,"Ooh! Chocolate milk! I love chocolate milk!"
Taehyung smiled, dancing and doing a little butt wiggle in his seat as a small glass of creamy chocolatey goodness was placed infront of his meal followed by a soft kiss to his forehead.
"What do you say, Taehyung?" Hoseok smiled to himself, heading to the stove to preparing his own food on a normal plate as he heard the happy giggles from his son behind him.
"Thank you, Papa!"
"You're welcome, sweetheart." Hoseok smiled. His boy was too precious and adorable for his own good.
"Papa's going to be back in his room finishing up some work, okay? If you need anything, don't hesitate to come get me." Hoseok snuck another kiss onto Taehyung's forehead as he shuffled out of the kitchen with his plate in his hands.
"Okay! Can I play with my tablet then?" Taehyung asked. He could only imagine there was hope within his eyes, since electronics weren't allowed at the table.
"Sure. Just don't spill anything on it alright?"
"Yes!! I can finally watch the new episode!"
Hoseok couldn't contain his smile as he shook his head, hearing his son belt out the theme song as if they don't have neighbors right beside them.
As soon as he stepped into his room, he instantly relaxed. Parenting was hard. Being a stay at home parent was even harder, but it was all worth it for their child.
Per Yoongi's request, Hoseok had decided to stay home and homeschool their child. It's not like anything was wrong with Taehyung, he just needed a bit more time. When they found out he was failing most of his classes, except for P.E, they pulled him out of school.
