Jessica’s POV

“Jess! Wake up!” I heard my mum shout for the third time.

I woke up and stared at my new uniform for a while. It is consisted of a knee length plaid green skirt, a short sleeve, white button up shirt and a dark green tie.

“Jess, mum said to hurry up” Lex, my little sister, walked into my room and said.

“I’m coming now” I faked a smile.

Hi, my names Jessica Cortez, but people call me Jess for short. I’m 16 years old and I just moved to Cheshire, England with my mum and my little sister from Sydney, Australia.

“Let’s go, girls” My mum smiled.

As we arrived at this shit hole of a place called school, Lex and I approached the gates.

After the principal showed us around, we both went to our classes.

“Just sit in the free seat at the back, Jess” my new English teacher smiled.

Dropping my bag on the table, I began to unpack a book and a pen.

“Harry, you’re late, go sit down” the teacher said sternly.

Before I knew it, Harry was sitting next to me.

Out of the whole classroom, full of empty chairs, he just had to sit next to me, didn’t he?

“Hey” he whispered, nudging my shoulder.

“Hi” I smiled, uninterested.

“Are you new?” he asked.

“Well obviously if you’ve never seen me before” I said sarcastically.

“Where’d you come from?”

“Sydney”

“Like Sydney, Australia?”

“Yeah”

“I like Australian girls” he smirked.

The bell then rang.

“Yeah, that’s nice, I’m going to go now” I faked a smile.

As I walked to my next class, someone ran into me.

“Watch where you’re fucking going” I spat.

“Shit I’m sorry” The annoyingly familiar boy said as he began to pick up my books for me.

“You’re seriously getting on my last nerve” I said, agitated.

“Look I said I’m sorry, what’s your name?”

 “Jess”

“I’m Ha-” I cut him off before he could finish.

“I know I heard the teacher say it” I smiled.

“Do you want to sit with me at lunch?”

I thought about it for a moment. I have no one else to sit with so why not.

“Sure” I nodded.

“I’ll see you at lunch then” He said nervously before walking to class.

Harry’s POV

As I walked to class, all I could think about was her.

Her dark brown eyes are the type you get lost in every time you look at them.

“Hey Harry” I heard a high pitched voice say behind me.

I turned around to see the most annoying girl I have ever met in my entire life, Holly Dixon.

“What do you want, Holly?” I groaned.

“I just wanted to see if you wanted to come to my party tonight” she smiled.

“I’ll think about it” I said as I continued to walk to class.

The bell rang for lunch and I had been counting down the seconds until when I could see Jess again.

Jessica’s POV

The bell rang and I packed my book and pen into my bag.

As I walked out of my class room, I saw Harry leaning against the wall, his eye lighting up when he saw me.

“Hey Jess” He walked over to me. “I was pretty sure this was your classroom” He chuckled, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

“Can we go get food now?” I asked.

“Sure” he nodded.

Once we got to the Cafeteria, I pulled out my wallet when Harry stopped me.

“I’ll pay” he smiled.

“No, it’s fine”

“No, seriously”

“I can buy my own food man” I laughed.

“Jess, it’s your first day, let me pay” he said, sincerely.

“You’re not going to stop badgering me until I let you, will you?”

“Probably not” he smirked.

“Okay, fine, you can buy my food”

After he bought our food, we went and sat at an empty table.

As I stabbed my plastic fork into what looked like some kind of pasta, he asked me a question. “What are you doing tonight?”

“Nothing, why?” I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Well, there’s a party tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to come”

“I have no way of getting there”

“No, Jess. I mean come to the party with me” he chuckled.

“Oh, sure” I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks.

“I’ll pick you up at seven?”

 I nodded.
