Tick Tock

My attention solely focused on the clock as the minute hand-spun faster than it was supposed to; ignoring the tense atmosphere in the room. I finally direct my gaze to the lady sitting composed in her seat. Her glowing melanin skin smooth as silk, her lips naturally round, her eyes honey brown. "Good morning Mr. Bates" Her angelic voice sang, as she readjusts her thick glasses. I avert my attention back to the clock then continue to inspect my surrounding.

Her legs are crossed, her black stiletto heels pointing in my direction; I gradually direct my attention from her smooth and unblemished thighs to her wide hips making the skirt look even more erotic. Slowly lifting my gaze to her full and luscious breast underneath all the clothing; finally attention rests on her lips as they move.

"Mr. Bates?"

"Your clock is 9 seconds faster than time itself," slumping into the chair, studying her carefully. Ignore her fatuous expression and stand to set the clock. "Mr. Bates, would you sit, so we can begin your psych-evaluation," I restrain from saying anything. Instead I stand up, walking over to the clock; "This time is wrong and the ticking is wrong" setting it correctly then taking my seat, studying her intensely as she unfolds her notepad and begins to scribble in it. Making me laugh internally at her arrogance; she had ignored me and immediately misjudged my intent, so innocent it was almost charming.

"Name?"

I sit silently for 6 mins watching her every move, her natural hair packed into a low bun, parted in the middle.

"David Bates"

"Age?"

"22,"

"I will state the following words if they describe you, pick the ones that best fit the description."

*Intelligent
*Sensitive
*Full of Regrets
* Crazy
*Considerate
*Confused
* Attractive
*Suicidal
*Good sense of humor

"Intelligent, sensitive, considerate, confused, suicidal"

"on a scale of 1-7, 7 being the highest how suicidal are you?"

"7"

"Have you attempted suicide? If yes how many times?"

"yes, eight times"

"How old were you?"

"7, 9, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 20"

"Please explain?"

"People hang on to life like death is not imminent; people say live life to the fullest and live life each day like it's your last like the life they live after that is worth fighting for."Shrugging.
