The Stars

I rushed through the streets, my mind completely blind. I had fallen in deep thoughts.

While thinking what Elise's motive could be, I realized something strange. As I felt a raindrop fall on my skin, I remembered, I had no idea what happened that day when I was going to school for the trip. It was as if I was teleported there. I couldn't remember being in the car. Wait.

My heart stopped beating with the idea of someone drugging me. I just drank a bottle of water before getting to the car. That's when I realised.

I never drink tap water. The last time I bought water was when I was with them. I remember, Elise was the one that took the water bottle. Normally, I wouldn't buy water in small sizes, but she offered to buy it. Oh no!

I need to think about this later. Now, I need to stop her.

I entered Arthur's house, but there wasn't anything there. Arthur's mother opened the door like usual. I didn't want to scare her, so I just told her to lock her door and not open it.

I decided to go to Andrew. His house wasn't close though. I called him, but he didn't open.

I took a taxi and told Zeynep to go to the police station on the phone. Irina had already left, and was on her way to her home. Now we have to deal with her too.

I left the taxi with haste. I knocked on the door of Andrew's flat. He didn't open. I knocked harder. Not even a single sound. I called him again,and I heard a faint sound of a phone come from inside. Noe I was even more worried. But no, if Elise had broken in, the door would be open. Andrew forgot his phone, I thought.

That day was a tiring one. In the end, we had a murderer, three tired girls and onr new murder. Irina had died.

"Please ma'am, we will interrogate her ourselves. " I was told by the police. But I wasn't going to accept that. In the end, through my connections, I was able to talk to her.

"With who? " I asked her. It was obvious that she had a partner.

"Andrew. "

"How? "

"Andrew choked him when he was in the park with you. That was the reason he wasn't interested in calling the police. We tried to blame it on Adeline. But it didn't work. I killed Irina tonight. "

"What was the motive? "

"Andrew's father left and killed his mother. He wanted to revenge her. He wanted to kill a gay person, I guess. I knew about Arthur because Andrew had learnt it from adeline and he told me. The rest was easy. "

I didn't want to talk more. I got up and moved towards the door. I was about to open it, but I hesitated. I went back and kissed her in the cheek. The door made a loud noise as I left.

I went to Andrew's house. He was packing up with Zeynep.

"Tell me everything. " I said to him.

"Elise probably already told you. "

"I want to hear it from you. Did you kill him, Andrew? "

"I did" he said. "But I regret it. "

"What are you going to do now? "

"We are returning to Palestine. I have a relative there. He will help us. I just need to pass throught the border. Don't have mervy on me. Please, just report me. "

I waited in silence for a minute. Then I asked them to come to the porch with me for a minute.

"There. " I said as I pointed to a star in the sky. "Everything started with those stars on that cold day. Noe let's end them the same way. That can be out little star. Whenever you look at it, remember me. " I told them.

"Now go. Or I will have to tell the cops about you. " A single teardrop escaped my eye.

"Eleanor, " Zeynep said. "Thank you. " She hugged me. I didn't care anymore. I started crying. She did the same.

"My father is up there I think. I forgive you dad. " said Andrew.

"Andrew... " I said while crying.
