BIKE RIDES TO THE CAFE || HWANG HYUNJIN (HIATUS)

CATS!

The weekend is over. It's Monday morning and I'm just leaving my place to go to school.

Riding my bike to school feels nice since it's cool and breezy today.

"Areum ahhh~" I hear someone shout.

I stop my bike and look back to find Hyunjin coming in his bike.

"Yeah! I came right on time!" he exclaims.

"Right on time?" I ask.

"I wanted to go together with you!" he says, smiling widely.

"With me?"

"Yup~"

We both go together and reach our school. We leave our bikes and walk to our respective classrooms.

"See you later!" I said.

"Bye~" said Hyunjin.

It's already recess and I've ate my lunch. I go to Hyunjin's class to have a chat with him.

"Hey, can you call Hyunjin?" I ask a guy from class 7.

"Hyunjin? He hasn't come to class since second period" the guy said.

I go back to my class thinking where he could've possibly went.

I sit in my seat which is in the corner of the room near the window. I lie down on my desk and start to stare out the window.

"You scared the hell out of me!!" I shout.

There stands Hyunjin with a grin on his face.

"How can you just jump out from beneath the window like that?" I said.

"To surprise you! Hehe~ Seems like it worked!" he said.

"By the way I went to your class to find you. Where have you been?" I ask.

"It doesn't matter. Come here!" he says, signaling his finger.

"Me?"

"Who else?"

"You're asking the disciplinary secretary to jump out the window?" I ask, in disbelief.

"Yes. It's fine to let yourself loose sometimes. Now come on, I have something to show you" he said.

"I can't jump, the window isn't that low, Hyunjin"

"I'll help you. Just trust me and jump"

"Well...okay..."

I jump out the window and just when I think I landed well, I trip. Thankfully Hyunjin catches me.

"I'm sorry! Are you okay?" I ask him.

"I'm totally fine! I was the one who told you to jump" he said.

He looks at me for a few seconds before he releases his grip on me.

He waves his hand in front of me and asks "Are you okay?"

"Uh.. Yeah yeah.. I'm fine"

He comes closer to my face and says "You don't look fine"

I push him away and say "I said I'm fine!"

"Hey, are you angry?"

'No! I'm not"

Why is my heart beating so fast..

"Did I do something?"

"No"

"Then why is your face red?" he asks.

"It's not..." I said, looking away.

"Then everything's alright! Come here~" he says and immediately catches my hand and starts running towards the trees.

"Look here Areum!"

I find a small cat. It looks so fluffy and adorable.

ㅇㅅㅇ

"She looks so adorable! How did you find her?" I asked him.

"I just came here to relax and I found her wandering around here. I immediately thought of you.  I'm allergic to cat fur though. Do you like her?"

"Of course! How did you know that I love cats?" I asked him.

"Your phone case has cats on it, you idiot" he says, giggling and pokes my forehead.

"Oh! Yes" I said, laughing.

I play around with the cat. She's so soft and small. I pet her and she slowly falls asleep on my lap. I sit there patting her.

*Hyunjin's POV*

I look at her. Her eyes are fixed on the cat. She's patting the cat with her tiny hands.  Her eyes are sparkling. She's mumbling to herself about how cute the cat is. Why does she look so adorable... It was a good thing that I brought her here.

*Back to Areum's POV*

"Oh! She woke up" I said, pointing at the cat.

"Haha yes" said Hyunjin.

"She's literally the cutest little baby~" I squeal.

"Says the smol baby"

"I'm not smol and I'm not a baby!' I said hitting Hyunjin.

"Why don't you name her?" suggests Hyunijn.

"Should I?" I think.

"Yes!"

"How does Haneul sound? Her blue eyes reminds me of the sky"

'It sounds beautiful~"

"Haneul ah~ From today you're Haneul" says Hyunjin.

"Okay we need to leave now. Recess is going to end soon" I said patting Hyunjin on his shoulder.

"Oh yes" he said, looking at his watch.

"See you later baby Haneul" I said.

"Aww you called her a baby~" said Hyunjin.

"I can't help it, she's too cute~" I said.

"Now let's run before we're late" said Hyunjin as he proceeded to catch my hand and run again.
