A lot of guinea pigs need a buddy. Your precious pet will love a buddy to share and enjoy it's life with. If you have females it is essential that they have another female guinea pig otherwise they would get lonely and stressed then maybe ill. If you have a friendly male guinea pig then you could perhaps try to introduce them. If you have an extremely territorial guinea pig, male or female it isn't a very good idea to get a buddy because they will just fight and perhaps injure each other. UNLESS YOU WANT TO BREED GUINEA PIGS IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU GET A GUINEA PIG THE SAME GENDER AS THE OTHER BECAUSE GUINEA PIGS CAN'T BE NEUTERED VERY EASILY.

INTRODUCING:
When you get a new guinea pig you shouldn't put them in the same cage right away, you need to let them get used to each other first. I suggest you put them both in a separate cage and put them next to each other. Then move the cages where neither of the piggies have ever been otherwise the actual piggy will perhaps start to become territorial.

If it doesn't work you can either keep them separate or donate one to an animal shelter.

NEVER ABANDON YOUR GUINEA PIGS. THEY CANNOT SURVIVE THEMSELVES.
DONATE TO SAVE LIVES.
If you can always adopt from an animal shelter.
