Your precious piggies need a nice warm cosy bed as well as you!
What you will need:
Newspaper
Sawdust or Paper Shavings
Straw
Hay
(You could also use fleece or a vet bed)Lining the Hutch:
So line the hutch with about three sheets of newspaper thick, the lining needs to cover the whole bed, also what you could do is put extra in where you guinea pigs wee most. Then sprinkle a layer of sawdust or newspaper shavings to about 3-5cm thick. Then add straw according to the temperature outside, if you don't want to use straw, use hay or fleece! Your guinea pigs need to be nice and warm! If it is going to be really hot you don't want to put in much bedding. If it is hot in the day but cool at night then you want to put your guinea pigs in an outdoor inclosure during the day and put them in the hutch at night, you will want to have a thick layer of straw. If it is really cold out then you want a very thick layer of straw and to keep your guinea pigs confined to help them stay warm. Also your guinea pigs will need somewhere to escape to and feel safe so what they need is some hidey houses. I recommend one for each piggy then maybe one extra.
Some good houses are:
Confined one door houses
Bendy ones to bend into different types
Tunnels and or tubes
